San Antonio Half Marathon - Nov 2010
I'm back again...looking for motivation to be at my best - be consistent - and not have to keep losing the same 15 or so lbs every year. :) After passing 50, it just gets harder - I used to be able to eat less a few meals for about a week & it came right off...now it just hangs on for dear life. By reading your stories and input daily, you guys are the only thing that seems to give me that inspiration & jump start! I've fallen but I will get back up!
I want this to be my status again...
5/25/08 - Finally down to 117.4
3.5 inches off waist
5 inches off hips
2 inches off thighs
Wow! When I look at my progress, I still can't believe it. With the strength training & cardio, I'm smaller now than when I was this same weight years ago.
I am just trying to stay within my range of calories, running 3-4 miles twice during the week, then a long run on Sunday. Try to stay consistent cross-training on the elliptical or Jillian Michaels dvds. Also try to strength train at least twice a week.
I am 52 and have 4 grandchildren.....trying to keep motivated to continue working out and eating right....same as all of us. I'm tired of being fit during the summer then go into hibernation mode when it's cold...somehow have to make a life change.
Love working out, reading good books: Nora Roberts/J. D. Robb, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, doing the Sunday crossword puzzles, and Fantasy Football...give me a beach and sun and I'm set.

Hi there! I am from San Antonio originally but am living elsewhere for school right now. I will be traveling back home for the race! That's funny about your last name, many people try to spell it Hagen or Hogan :). It was O'Hagan way back when. And no, I dont have a group...I tend to run these things alone so it would be great to see you all there!

Thanks for stopping by my photos. I did two rounds of P90X. The first time I followed the calendar pretty closely. However, I didn't have a pull-up bar, so I used the bands like they do in the videos. The second round, I started using the assisted pull-up machine at our gym instead of the bands, and WOW, what a difference! I didn't really follow the calendar as closely the second time, and I also threw in some ChaLean Extreme workouts with the P90X. It took me two rounds to see real results. I also didn't follow Tony's meal plan/program...I used Tom Venuto's Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle as my meal program. Definitely results worth talking about. Good luck and keep in touch.

Thank you so much! How is everything going? I have tried them all, New Balance, Asics, and now I wear Nike. I loved running with asics but now have switched to Nike because I have the Nike Plus that you put on your ipod (and a little device that is inserted into the shoes) it tells you how many miles you complete in a workout, calories, average pace - its a great tool!!
