Theme for 2013? Svelte!
Just your average guy that woke up with a spare tire around his mid-section one day. "Why did it all turn out like this for me? I had so much promise. I was personable. I was bright. Oh, maybe not academically speaking, but I was perceptive. I always know when someone's uncomfortable at a party." - George Costanza All kidding aside, I am not entirely comfortable in my own skin these days. When I look in the mirror, it's not the 'me' that I know and love. Funny now ...

Oh, maybe not academically speaking, but I was perceptive. I always know when someone's uncomfortable at a party." - George Costanza All kidding aside, I am not entirely comfortable in my own skin these days. When I look in the mirror, it's not the 'me' that I know and love. Funny now to look back on pictures, even from a few years ago and I would be happy to just look like I did then...but I digress. I actually have a plethora of knowledge when it comes to exercise and living a healthy lifestyle. I often find myself giving advice to co-workers or even complete strangers on this site, only to not be following that same advice. I am like one of those doctors that tells you smoking will kill you (for the record, I do not smoke, never have) and yet smokes 3 packs a day themselves LOL It's the same story for me. Every time I find success, something derails me from completing the task and reaching my ultimate goal. One time it was school, another an injury, another time an injury, another time a synchronized swimming accident (ahem, yeah, I ...don't ..want to talk about it). Being the social butterfly that I am, I find strength in the SparkPeople community. Meeting new and interesting people energizes me and gives me a better level of accountability. Since taking up my second serious stint at running (last time ended due to knee injury) I have been able to lose about 14 lbs and currently reside at 207 lbs. My ideal body weight (not by US government standards of course) should be around 180 lbs and I am going to get there before the summer is over. There. I said it. I have 'called my shot' (baseball reference) as it were, and failure will NOT be an option. We all can do this; it's just the difference between interest and commitment.
