Hello I am 30 years old and I am a type 2 diabetic and just recently diagnosed on Insulin. I have gotten used to it so far so thats good. I have to watch what I eat everyday the carbs and sugars and the calories also. I make sure that I eat lots of fruits and veggies and stay away from dried fruit and juice and chips and pop and anything like that. I drink plenty of water. The way I find myself maintaining my weight is walking and exercising. I walk for about 120 mins thats about 3.15 miles and ...

I make sure that I eat lots of fruits and veggies and stay away from dried fruit and juice and chips and pop and anything like that. I drink plenty of water. The way I find myself maintaining my weight is walking and exercising. I walk for about 120 mins thats about 3.15 miles and I do that everyday when its nice out or I do the treadmill I do about 50 to 60 mins on it. 3 mile also. And I have just recently started weight lifting and doing sit ups and skipping. Love it!!!!! Gonna keep at that.
Well because diabetes is a big part of my life and I try so hard to keep healthy and keep my sugars in check and etc its a lot I talk about so. When you talk to me I will be talking about that and plus if you have diabetes in common I would love to hear your story and meet people with diabetes and who take insulin also. So if you want to reach out and talk to me feel free to so.
And I am also seeing a Diabetes Team who has helped me with everything with being on insulin and etc that they are just great and love having them on my side/team. I also see a specialist.
My goal is to loose 6 more pounds to get to my goal weight but then loose some more for my height(5'0)


Current Status:
BABYGIRL737 At 130 miles for this month want to walk 200 miles so gonna make it happen. Plus gonna get on my bike more this week. Keep you posted.

Hi, I saw that you had posted on my spark page a bit ago. I have to admit that I don't always remember to check it. I hope it is going well for you, me I seem to be stalled with the weight loss but I am happy with the control of my blood sugars. I do a lot of walking and I keep tracking the food, even when I slip. emoticon

How are you doing? I hope you are great. How is your strength training coming along? I know that 6 pounds will slip off you so quickly now that you are strength training. Building muscle is the lazy man's way of burning fat because even when you are done with strength training your muscles are still burning the fat off.

Hi, I go your mail, I put you as a friend as you know I'm a diabetic also. Type 2. i joined Spark people in May. Decided I needed the extra support. I am on oral medication. When I was first diagnosed I went to see a dietitian, not sure what happened didn't seem to remember most of what she told me. Spark people gave me tools to track my food and activity, as well as information and support..My A1c has dropped from 8 to 6.4 in the past 3 months. Like you I am constantly tweaking my food to maintain my blood sugar levels and to even out the carbs that I ingest. Perhaps we can encourage each other toward our goals emoticon emoticon
