Back and continuing my journey.... After having lost 150 lbs from 2006 through 2009, the good news is that I have maintained 100 lbs loss; the bad news is I gained 50 ls. Lyrica and falling back to old habits are responsible for the gain. I know what to do to get back on track. Not sure how much my medication will be working against me, but I have to give it 100% or else, I'll never know. (May 2016)
I have dieted all my life and tried everything I could find to help take my weight to a normal range. Diet pills, liquid protein drinks, Lean Line, TOPS, Weight Watchers, Nutrition System, Jenny Craig, Atkins, Michael Thurman, eating disorder therapy, and anti-depression pills are some of the means I have tried. I have lost 100+ pounds at least three times, and each time regained the weight plus more. The longest I have maintained a 100+ weight loss was 5 years. I thought I had my weight under control by 5 years. Wrong I regained plus more. Then I stopped smoking in 2002, after smoking since I was a teenager, and was very proud of myself but, I also gained 50 lbs. As I was trying to get healthy and lose that weight, my dad passed away. This was traumatic and I found comfort again in food.
I have many medical conditions now which are considered co-morbidity conditions. Im scared that if I dont lose the weight now, I am risking my life. I have researched weight loss surgery and believe this is my answer. Weight loss surgery can be a very good tool to not only take off the weight, but to also maintain the loss. Im in the process of making that surgery a reality. With the wonderful friends I have met here, with their support and encouragement, I know I will finally be victorious. Welcome to my journey. . . .
My goals are to be and feel healthy. And, for the cherry on top of the sugar-free/fat free yogurt...to look good too!
