I enjoy working out in the garden, walking with the dogs, but lately the arthritus has gotten worse. So my weight has piled on. I can't do what I liked to do . It is like the "what came first ? the arthritus or the weight but what ever they both need to get along so I am going to lose some weight and that should help the other . I was using the arthritis as an excuse not too get up and get moving. Just with small amount of excercising have done, I find I feel better. So I will take it just a day at a time, somedays min by min but will do whatever.
I have been a member since Dec 3 o7. I have not lost alot of weight, but have lost some inches. I have also met and made friends with some very nice people. I love this site, and love all the information I have gained. It is a slow process, but well worth it. Slow and easy . I have been discouraged at times, but by writing it out, it has helped me to see why I have always had trouble loosing weight. Once you see where and why , it becomes easier, and yes I fall once in a while, and not 100% faithful to my exercise program, and I whine and cry, but with all the support you have to get back on track, as you see everyone is having the same struggles, so you are not alone. Which makes it easier to stay on program.
Aug 1. I have not been 100% on the program for the last couple of months but have still managed to lose some more weight. Although things have been stressful I have used what I learned here about emotional eating and although I was tempted I stayed away from the comfort foods . Sometimes I did give in but for the most part I stayed on course. I kept drinking the water and watched what I ate, the only part I did not do was the exercise as it was just impossible . I am happy about the progress I have made and it is all due to the articles and information and the support of the people here, as you can not do this alone.
I am back now for good. I will not reach my goal this month, but I am staying with this and will reach it by Dec. So thank you Spark People keep up the good work
I have had 2 goals
1 to quit smoking which I did 3 years ago after 42 years.
2 to loose weight. I want to loose 75 pounds , so the way to do that is too change my thinking, and increase activity. And in just this week alone 2 pounds have gone.
to keep tracking exercise and calories eaten and burned. To stay with the program no matter what, please read my blog for the full story of what has happened.
My name is Diane, I am from Canada. I love to read, work in the garden, knit, crochet, cross stitch, sew, dance, especially Ballroom Dancing. I just retired, at 62 and want to stay active.
