Auguest 4 2016 - update I have changed my ticker to a smaller goal for now. I have decided to make my goals in increments of 10 until reaching my final goal. So each 10 pounds, I will go in and adjust. It's not a big deal but I think it might work for me. Time will tell! January 2016 Just like you, I have a story. I have a past, filled with successes and failures. At this moment I am choosing to focus on this particular moment. My number one goal is to love and accept myself as I am. Once I do this, everything else will fall into place, as it should. I will be 49 years young in 2016. I have two wonderful sons. This year my husband and I will be married for 29 years! No one saw that coming ! ;)) We have a most amazing Australian Shepherd who expects her walks every morning before I leave for work and in the evening when I get home. Nothing makes me smile more than coming home to her Wigglebutt.

    Have you any old grudges you would like to pay,
    Any wrongs laid up from a bygone day?
    Gather them now and lay them away
    Before Christmas comes.
    Hard thoughts are heavy to carry, my friend,
    And life is short from beginning to end;
    Be kind to yourself, leave nothing to mend
    When Christmas comes.

    emoticon Un-attachment (as opposed to detachment) is the acceptance that each and every person is responsible for his or her own reality, and that our joy, peace, security, and sense of love is not dependent on any other person or situation. We are each responsible for our own emotional well being.

    To make your day a little brighter...
    Begin with a little "spark"le, leave a little "spark"le wherever you go,
    and don't ever let anyone dull your "spark"le.

    emoticon MAINTAINING WEIGHT DURING THE HOLIDAYS emoticon

    Let’s face it, the holidays can be fattening! Most of us are just trying to NOT gain weight at this moment in time. But I want to remind you to eat healthy and to eat often. Choose foods that will work for you, like protein, that will keep you satisfied in the short term so you will lose weight in the long term. Eating protein will make you feel fuller, longer. It takes your body more time to break down protein and use it for energy compared to other foods. Being satisfied makes you less likely to reach for junk food or sugar later on. Choose high-quality protein at every meal, like eggs, low fat cheeses, nuts, grilled chicken and fish. Keep your blood sugar levels stabilized by eating every few hours. Don’t get so hungry that you will eat anything. Keep hunger at bay and watch your body slowly get rid of those extra pounds. Start the New Year off right!
