I Achieved One of My New Year's Resolutions
I accomplished my goal of going to Winter Pow Wow at State Fair Park as one of my New Year's Resolutions. My New Year's Resolution is to dance at 4 Pow Wows this year. My Indian name is Waapan Alaangweew which means Morning Star. I am Native American enrolled in the Stockbridge-Munsee band of Mohican Nation in Wisconsin. I reside in Waukesha, WI. I used to weigh 431 pounds and I have lost 62 pounds. I currently weigh 374 pounds and I have type 2 Diabetes. I aspire to reach 319 ...

I am passionate about Pow Wow, dance, and the long term survival of my Mohican tribe. I had a vision of myself as the white turtle with a rainbow dancing. I dream about dancing a specific dance at the Pow Wow called a Two Step which is a couple's dance with my true love Bill. I am writing my memoir called "Two Step." A story of a Native American woman enrolled in the Mohican in the modern world. II write Chick Lit stories in the forms of novel drafts ”Step,” “Enigma,” and “Webcam Love.” I also have written a series of poems. My “Woman of the Dawn” poem was published in ”First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples: Exploring Their Past, Present, and Future.” John Roberts. Emond Montgomery Publication. 2005 I am learning my tribal language Munsee dialect of the Lunaapeew (Delaware) language. It is a living language and we are learning from our relatives on SW Ontario, Canada.
