Life is Amazing

Joining Spark People has been a life changing experience. I've met so many great people who not only keep me on my toes with health and physical fitness, but also have gotten to know me on a deeper level and care about my well being. I have only been so fortunate as to return the favor. I am so thankful to have gained so many great friends. Thanks for being such a great support and adding bursts of happiness into my life. Lastly, remember that your perspective is what brightens, or dampens, ...

My Goals:
Weight and Fitness Goals:

Be healthy and in shape. Plain and simple. I have so much energy and want to do so many things. Being able to move and do the things that I want are important to me. I need my energy level to reflect how I feel inside.

Personal Goals:

Immediate goals are finishing up my research and thesis. Spiritually, I'll always be working on getting closer to God... He's so frikkin awesome! Lastly, I always think of ways I can improve myself and my life. I'm constantly evaluating myself, my life, and the people in it.

My Program:
Take it one day at a time... I keep reminding myself to focus. It's so easy to get sidetracked and I seriously eat like a pig sometimes. My biggest obstacle is proper planning and time management. However, I feel that things will be different this time.

Personal Information:
I'm from Atlanta, GA. Right now, I am in Statesboro working on my M.S. in Mathematics (ALMOST DONE Y'ALL!!). I love to experience different things and try to have fun as often as possible. Most importantly, God is my everything... the peaches to my cream, yin to my yang, etc. ...He is what completes me! ;-)

Other Information:
I LOVEEEE nature and beautiful scenery. I love poetry, music, dance... pretty much anything that is creative, expressive or shows individuality. I'm a die hard comedy fan. Laughter does the body so good lol I want to travel the world (well some of it) one day. I also want to do things like sky diving, skiing, jet ski, etc.

Eating on a budget can be difficult. It also depends on your tastes etc. UK food is slightly different to US but let's see if we can come up with a few things.
Dried pasta - cheap, quick to cook, can get wholewheat varieties, using a can of chopped tomatoes make a sauce adding veg and dried herbs or spices.
Veg lasagne. Egg "fried" rice packed full of veg but with less of the frying and not too heavy on the rice. Ground turkey, chicken or pork - a lot cheaper than buying the full piece of meat and can make several meals at one time. Fish, as you mentioned, prawns or canned tuna.
Remembering to have your carbs as well, you can get wholewheat noodles and a pack goes a long way.
Seasonable fruit, chopped into a salad with a little lemon juice.
Let me know what you manage to find locally.
