Life is Amazing

Joining Spark People has been a life changing experience. I've met so many great people who not only keep me on my toes with health and physical fitness, but also have gotten to know me on a deeper level and care about my well being. I have only been so fortunate as to return the favor. I am so thankful to have gained so many great friends. Thanks for being such a great support and adding bursts of happiness into my life. My Goals:
Weight and Fitness Goals:

Be healthy and in shape. Plain and simple. I have so much energy and want to do so many things. Being able to move and do the things that I want are important to me. I need my energy level to reflect how I feel inside.

Personal Goals:

Immediate goals are finishing up my research and thesis. Spiritually, I'll always be working on getting closer to God... He's so frikkin awesome! Lastly, I always think of ways I can improve myself and my life. I'm constantly evaluating myself, my life, and the people in it.

My Program:
Take it one day at a time... I keep reminding myself to focus. It's so easy to get sidetracked and I seriously eat like a pig sometimes. My biggest obstacle is proper planning and time management. However, I feel that things will be different this time.

Personal Information:
I'm from Atlanta, GA. Right now, I am in Statesboro working on my M.S. in Mathematics (ALMOST DONE Y'ALL!!). I love to experience different things and try to have fun as often as possible. Most importantly, God is my everything... the peaches to my cream, yin to my yang, etc. ...He is what completes me! ;-)

Other Information:
I LOVEEEE nature and beautiful scenery. I love poetry, music, dance... pretty much anything that is creative, expressive or shows individuality. I'm a die hard comedy fan. Laughter does the body so good lol I want to travel the world (well some of it) one day. I also want to do things like sky diving, skiing, jet ski, etc.

Hey Anna!!!!

To reduce belly fat, I read that it's important to get in the cardio, so I'm doing it. On Sunday, I did the Fall into Fitness 5K walk, and the box of goodies we all received included a piece of Eli's cheese cake. Of course, I ate it, and then checked the calories. That little, itty bitty piece of cheese cake had 280 calories. I got back into the car and headed to the gym for another 80 minutes of cardio. Do you think I'm getting a bit obsessive about this? Maybe. Anyway, I weighed myself on Monday, and I'm at a weight I haven't seen since 7th or 8th grade. I weigh 175 pounds, so you can tell I've been obese for a very, very long time. My BMI is at 30, so it just goes to show you that it doesn't take being tons overweight to be labeled obese.

I am sincerely grateful for all your challenges and the work you put into your team. Thank so much!

Leslie

I've been thinking about you and have noted in my Friend Feed that you've been logging a lot of fitness minutes. Good for you!!! I intend to put some time aside to think about exercises. I think we should choose something that can be modified for each of our fitness levels. Since I hate triceps dips, I think they're a must. Yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment. emoticon

I always have a monthly goal of 2,500 fitness minutes and at least 20 days with 120 minutes. I can hold a plank for a minute and would eventually like to get up to 5 minutes. I would also like to do a proper TRX assisted pistol squat. My lunges are terrible, so I need to work on those too. Although I have 55 pounds to lose, my short term goal is to reduce my waste size by 1 inch.

I work with a personal trainer twice a week, and I absolutely adore him. His goal for me is to be able to do a regulation push up. Right now I have to do them from my knees. As you can see, I'm pretty much a beginner, and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do a burpee.

If you don't mind a fitness buddy too old to keep up with a youngster like you, I can give it a go. I'm 66 years old or young - depending on the day. I have a gym membership and work with a personal trainer twice a week. On Saturday morning, I take a TRX class at the park district and try to manage 120 minutes of fitness activity every day. I have a yard with far too many weeds, so I spend a LOT of time gardening.

If you think I would work out, let me know.
