Here I sit waiting for my youngest grandson, M'bake, to take my picture. Dec 7 2008

I have been away from Sparkpeople. I may on occassion browse here. I have not been as active as I would like on this wonderful web site. My most recent changes has been settling into a non-working routine. I enjoy the quiet. Yet, I relished the friendships I made at work. It can be boring. I have had days when a simple phone call helped me! My grandchildren are growing and often visit. I am lucky in that way. I would love to lose about forty pounds. My children think that I am "crazy" to think that I need to lose. I just want to say that clothes hide a lot of errors. Life is good. May you find time to speak with the ones you love. Let them know how much you appreciate them in your life. I had the opportunity to visit with my aunt for one week in Feb. My dear aunt was dying of cancer. Her life on earth ended 4 6 11. I am so grateful to have been able to take her around to her favorite places. She loved buying from thrift stores. Her illness caused her to lose lots of weight. I told her she needed less baggy pants. She will be sorely missed. My aunt was able to show me the cancer on her chest and sit without a wig on. I think she was happy to share what she was going through with us. It was important for my sister and I to take her to her chemo therapy and hear from her doctor. I know that we helped her daughter get a bit of a respite before the onslaught of the last terrible months with several ER and ICU visits.

My Program:
Starting in August 07, after losing minimal weight over the spring and summer...I started to track the food I ate. I even tracked the bad stuff. Nothing went in my mouth that I did not write down. If you do this and it is amazing feedback. I ate lunches I prepared. I drank protein shakes. In Jan. 2008, I had RNY gastric bypass surgery. I am growing smaller! Keeping to the program helps me lose. Sleeping well, drinking water, and remembering to eat.
