You have only failed when you give up...

I'm a 20-year-old college student looking to change my lifestyle once and for all. I'm tired of struggling with my weight, making excuses for how much I eat, and fighting to find clothes that fit and flatter. After seeing my weight in black and white on the scale, I feel like nothing can stop me from making the changes I need to finally get healthy.

My main motivation? I'm leaving January 24 for a semester abroad in Florence, Italy!

My Goals:
*Run my first 5k in 2010.
*Lose 35-40 pounds.
*Make changes to my eating habits that will last.
*Make exercising a part of my daily routine.
*Like what I see in the mirror.
*Inspire others to make healthy changes!

My Program:
I'm learning slowly to substitute healthy options for my favorite foods. I do my best to stay in Spark's calorie range, and to meet all of my daily ranges.

As far as exercise, I do Zumba and kickboxing twice a week, circuit training and a high-impact cardio class once weekly, with the occasional elliptical workout sprinkled in. I'm attempting strength training 3x weekly (necessary, but I hate it). I'm at the gym 6x weekly, never for more than 90 minutes.

I'm also a yoga fanatic, but I've been slacking on this lately. Great for muscle tone and flexibility!

Personal Information:
I'm a 20 year old college student majoring in English. I love college football, reading really good books, doing arts and crafts, and dyeing my hair.
