I have been struggling with my weight for years, but never ever believed in fad diets. I am not a Yo Yo dieter, but my wieght has been climbing gradually over the years. I am now 5 pounds less than when I was full term with one of my daughters!! I am an emotional junk-food binger, and sometimes I can keep it in check but it has been harder the last few months. I am so at risk for diabeties, unless I change my bad habits!! I apreciate this site which is very encouraging to me, with the small goals it presents. I feel like there is a possibility I can actually achieve my goals!
3/22/12 Showing signs of pre-diabetes. Fasting Bood sugar today was 116. Too high...I changed my SparkDiet over to the Pre-Diabetes setting.
5/24/12 Fasting glucose is down to 104, and I have lost 27 pounds! (Lately my eating has been terrible, but I am trying to work my way back to healthier haibts!) I haven''''t given up!
Oh and I got my itunes reward, but I haven''''t bought an outfit yet!

2015 August...weigh in is embarrassing. 250lbs. Why would I want to post this in public? Is it just for accountability? This is depressing. It feels as if I slid down the rabbit hole and got stuck in Alice''s wonderland! I''m on the verge of fall semester for college which involves a lot of sitting at a computer. What am i gonna do? I don''t have time to journal everything I eat.
My goals are to have healthier habits so that hopefully, Diabeties won't catch up to me, like it has with too many of my family members. My healthy habits will include daily excercise, and a lower level of carbs in my diet, along with a healthy amount of fruits and vegetables. I also want to be more aware of what I am eating, and stop binging on sweets.
To get my weight will mean a lot to me. My quality of life, being able to take on more house cleaning jobs without my back and kness hurting, being more acitve with my kids, and being healthy for them so I will be there for them a long time.
My program includes tracking my water drinking, along with tracking my foods so that I am more aware of what I am putting into my body. I also includes having a goal of excercising 10 mins or more everyday, and to make it a long streak!
I am a California girl, born and raised. I have three beautiful kids. I love music, and reading, Nancy Drew games, and spending time with my family. Just for future refference, don't worry about sending me any holiday goodies, because I just don't celebrate any holidays. It's a personal choice I have made.
I love the book Jane Eyre. I also love to read the Bible. My favorite book of the Bible is Proverbs. One verse that is my favorite, is at Proverbs 25:11 "As apples of gold in silver carvings is a word spoken at the right time for it". If you can say something good to somebody, don't hesitate to say it! I learned early on in life how to be tactful and aware of a persons feelings. Knowing when to speak and when to be quiet can be a challenge! Encouragement, the art of listening, and empathy are also a big part of it.
