Thanks for dropping by today and for the thoughtful comments--I agree with you, probably starting out with stocking the pantry and maybe a pan or two can be expensive (and a cookbook!), but it would be worth it in the long run health-wise and $$, too as you learn more. LOL - I better clarify what I meant by 15 seconds per week. That wasn't min/mile. 25 years ago when I first tried to run, I pooped out after 30 SECONDS of running although walking wasn't a problem. So my intervals were 30 sec run/4:30 walk and repeat 6 times. The following week I did 45 sec run/4:15 walk etc. I followed this plan for 6 months and my first 5K was 30:51. Catching up on spark today. Thanks for your support on my blog last week. And heading back to school this week wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. The kiddos didn't mention a thing, thank goodness.
On another note - tried adding just one very, very short interval into my jog today on each mile for the first time today. My time was the fastest it's ever been (which is still slow, but the fastest yet!) 1321 days ago
