It's a WONDERFUL life! After living all over the Southeast, I've settled into East Tennessee once again. For awhile anyway. I moved to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina (to help in the recovery effort) and was forever changed by the area. That is what made me realize that as long as I have this body to house The Spirit in, I will be obligated to do my part in changing the world! Not only did the people of Louisiana have a tremendous impact on me, so did the music. That is a culture that everyone should try (at least once :0). I study Science & Theology with a passion. Weird, huh? It was Abraham Lincoln that said "Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side". The question is..."Where is God?" My beliefs have changed DRASTICLY over the last few years. I make it a point to not be bound down by old concepts and ideas that I was taught as a child. I'm disappointed by what I was taught, not by the people who taught me. I think most believe those tired worn out stories from the bible because they are afraid NOT to believe them. Well, I am no longer afraid to question ANYTHING. I know, I know...some of you have already started praying for me. GOOD! Because every one of us should be praying. I do. Only different than you probably do. I don't have an image in my mind when I pray of God sitting on a golden throne, waiting to dole out a reward or punishment when the Spirit (or X, or whatever we choose to call it) no longer is housed in this earthly body. And isn't that what religion has been teaching us? That God is going to reward or punish us? At the END of earthly exsistance? I thought he gave us FREE WILL? If he did that, then why would he reward or punish anything? If he's everywhere... then isn't he in all of us? Doesn't that make us ALL God? Doesn't that mean we SHOULD be questioning EVERYTHING? Jesus said "God is within you". He also said not to believe anyone when they told you that heaven was over here, or over there... Jesus had been ENLIGHTENED. He was ahead of his time. He realized that men could not understand what he was trying to tell them, so he had to paint the stories with colorful pictures. To put is mildly, I'm a new-age Hippie. "A New Agey" if you will. My favorite quote is "Your life is an occasion. RISE TO IT!" For all of you who think you are through learning...please think again. To stop learning, is to be dead. We will all do that soon enough. So we better make this count. QUESTION EVERYTHING! Find no fault. Look for the good, and go about doing good. Never criticize or condemn. Because if we truly do have to bow before a god on a golden throne and answer for what we did in this life, aren't those the things we want to be judged on??????
