This is a bit delayed, but I wanted to thank you for your comment on my blog 'o despair.
I was feeling really down on myself that day, but I took some time to cry and all. I didn't do any favors for my weight loss plans, but that is all in the past now.
Anyway, I think you are absolutely right. Confidence is very important, and fat or thin, if I don't believe I'm worth listening to, then no one will listen. I don't know how much it will help, but I plan on getting some counseling to help medeal with it.
So thank you again, and I see you are a fellow Wisconsin gal. Whereabouts are you?
Also I'm sorry to read about your father. I lost my dad 7 years ago. It's very hard to focus on your health when you lose someone so close, but just getting enough sleep is probably the most important thing. And keeping busy. I was in school at the time (heh, still am) but somehow it helped keep me going to have something to occupy my mind.
Take care of yourself. We'll all get through things, even if at times we are left a bit frayed around the edges. I was a total buzzkill for a few days myself...
I know...right? The little green K warms my heart every darn morning I see him! Thanks for sharing your love of the frog! There's a little bit of a spark history behind him...he keeps me from admitting defeat. If you get a chance, read this article from the Wellness page and "be like the frog": "Going Through the Emotions: Why It's Worth the Trouble" http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/well ness_articles.asp?id=98 2877 days ago
Welcome to SparkPeople and to the Wisconsin team (a little late). I hope you are doing well. I read your blog about your father's passing. I am so sorry you have to go through this. It is a tough thing but you are strong (you have proved that with what you have been through with your health) and your father will long live on in all of your memories of him.
I grew up in Racine and get back there now and then. I have family and friends there yet.
Don't be afraid to reach out to the team if you need some extra support. They are a wonderful bunch of people who will rally around and do what they can to help.
