2012 is my year! My year to take my life back. My year to concentrate on me. My year to be happy. My year to be proud. My year to be the best me I can be!

Update: April 18th--39 pounds lost, but there's no need to help me find them. I am doing just fine! :)

Update: August 1st--63 pounds lost! But starting to hit the dreaded plateau. I need to lose 19 pounds to be considered at a healthy weight, and 29 to reach my goal of 150.

Update: November 6--73 pounds lost! The weight loss has definitely slowed, but my overall heath, stamina, and strength haven't been this awesome since high school!

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to be at a healthy weight. I am currently 10 pounds overweight and those darn 10 pounds just aren't going anywhere. Granted, I haven't been trying as hard as I was in the beginning.

I also want to be a competitive runner by next year. I always do my best, but I would like to get faster. I will be running my first half marathon in April and can't wait!

My Program:
My program started on Dec. 28, 2011 with counting calories; every calorie every day. March 1st I added running. I have run 3 5K's, the Warrior Dash, and 2 10K's so far this year. My third 5K will be Nov. 24th's Turkey Trot. I LOVE to run, and racing is the best. I am up to 9 miles straight, which takes me a little less than 1:45.

My advice is to take it slow and add new variables only when you are ready. You have to want it for it to work. And if you don't like something, stop doing it. It's OK if eating a certain way or exercising a certain way is not for you. Move on to the next idea. Just don't give up!

Personal Information:
My name is Amanda. I'm 30 years old and from Eastern PA. I have a wonderful husband (Josh) and two awesome kids (Sophia, 7 and Noah, 3).

Other Information:
My whole life has changed since I started this journey of weightloss and health. I am happy and healthy. I'm no longer afraid to be seen; embarassed by how heavy I allowed myself to become. I used to think people were looking at my husband and thinking, "Look at the gorgeous guy with the big muscles and his fat wife." But not anymore. I finally feel like me again.

Thank you for your support! It means a lot to me!

I have heard that they will be walking the salary employees out on 1/31. I have a cardiologist appointment that day. I am hoping to talk to my boss the day before and get a clear idea if I need to take my stuff home the night of 1/30 or not. The whole situation is so crappy. So many family affected. It is just bad news. All I can do is keep working hard and wait.

Christmas gift suggestions: To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with blessings!
