All out of excuses!

Hi, I'm an overweight single mom and a type 1 diabetic. That has pretty much defined me over the last 6yrs. I was diagnosed in 2001 and proceded to have two beautiful children (now ages 6 and 2).
This weight loss journey has been, without a doubt, the single hardest thing I've ever attempted.
I've gained and lost the same 30lbs 3x over the last 15yrs. It's time to get them off and KEEP them off permanently.
I'm gonna need your help, support, friendship, ...

If it takes a village to raise a child, then i guess it's gonna take a village to rid my chunky butt of this extra weight. My health, my life, my well-being...all depend on it.
Because I'm type 1 and have hypothyroidism, i've accepted that my weight loss is going to be a s-l-o-w crawl.... but i figure, as long as i'm on the right path, all i have to do is keep going.

My Goals:
Lose 30 pounds and be fit, for myself and for my children.



My Program:
Every other day, I pull on my stretchy pants, a knee brace, a sports bra, tank top, and a hoodie...and i head to the gym. while i'm there i walk/jog on the treadmill for an hour then i use a few of the weight machines. i just decided, one day, that NOT going to gym for more than 48hrs would no longer be an option for me.

I went on my FIRST run outdoors and I LOVED it!

Personal Information:
i've lived my whole life in Boston and really couldn't imagine living anywhere else (Go SOX!). i'm all about family and having good times. it's important to me to make the best of any situation, so i've made it a point to stay far far away from people who seem to be negative ALL the time. that's no way to live.
for as long as i can remember i've wanted to be a mom! seriously, when people asked me what i wanted to be when i grow up, i answered " a mommy!" well, i was blessed with the honor of that title 1st in 2004 and again in 2008. my children are my life, and yes their goal seems to be to drive me insane, but i love it :) most days, anyway...

being healthy, taking care of my body, yes it's for me....but being a good mom for my kids for as long as possible is my HIGHEST priority...and getting fit will add to my years with my kids. so this is for us, my little family... me and my 2 monkeys.

Other Information:
"No hay mal que por bien no venga" is a quote often used in my house, as a kid. My mom taught it to me, and it basically means that nothing bad happens without good cause. I've held on to it, because even when it seems "to hit the fan" it forces me to look for the silver lining.

Thanks for the comment on my wall! I'm glad you liked my blog. :) I had the same problem with C25K (I'm on week...well, probably 8 now, I think? haha), and I didn't run outside until week 6. Most of my running has been on the treadmill because I live in a hilly area at school and running outside is veeeery hard, haha. I really think you'll enjoy running outside, though! Just keep in mind that it will be harder, but that's okay. :) When I first ran outside I underestimated how different it was from a treadmill, and I was really upset at myself for a while because of how poorly I believed I was doing. Not to say you will do horribly, but just know that it is a HUGE accomplishment to attempt the transition at all! :D If you don't mind, I'd like to add you. :) Have a great day!

Awesome on this weather right? I swear I was about to go on Prozac last week for the depressing rainy weather. Broght out the kiddie pool yesterday. Not like I could float around in it; well my feet could atelast. ha ha. still it was nice to be out in our bathing suits. Got a little sun.
Glad you are feeling hot hot hot.
How is everything going on your end? How are your workouts coming along?
