I started with Spark in late July 2007.

Live Love Laugh: These three L's have been my signature line for many years and I have watched them come in and out of popularity but have found they are quite important in my life and stay in my life.

Recently I decided it was time to make some drastic changes in my life which included smoking cessation and weight loss.

The smoking cessation is now at the point of, Smoking is not an option for me and I love it. ...

The weight loss is a WIP. Stay tuned for more results.

It is now February 2 and figured it was time to post some results.
The results kind of happened accidentally as I was writing in one of the forums I visit and started reflecting. It was a wonderful reflection and happy it happened and hope that it helps others in their journey.

I was sitting here today, looking back to last year at the same time. My how times do change.

I could not stay on the treadmill for an hour. I could barely do 1/4 mile let alone 4 miles as I currently do.

I could not lift weights per se. I have built that ability amazingly well since July of 2007.

I was still smoking a pack and half of sickettes a day.

Water was something to shower with not drink.

Cardio was walking up and down the steps to go out and have a sickerette.

snacks consisted of chips and chocolate, even though very limited in amounts.

I did not know what Spark People was.

In water fitness I could not tread water for 15 seconds let alone 4 sets of 60 seconds as I can now.

My back, while still tender, I have increased the distances I can travel amazingly well.

After 3 in the afternoon I no longer have caffiene.

As I have said in other posts, I have not lost all the weight I would like to lose BUT I have gotten so much healthier. I eat better. I am accountable for what I am doing and I have lost inches.

I have been very happy with who I am but now I am VERY happy with me. Will I ever be "perfect" according to the charts?? Heck no, but I am perfect to me and those around me.

I have a few gray hair (lol, no one gets to know how many due to Miss Clariol) a few wrinkles, a couple of rolls (but they are much smaller now) and am happy.

My Goals:
Working to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Learning options to help others and my family maintain the same healthy lifestyle

My Program:
As I grow and change, so does my program.

Currently working to do cardio five days a week and weight strengthening 3 days a week.

Maintain my quit. Smoking is no longer an option for me. Having quit smoking is the most important event I have done since the adoption of my two sons.

Personal Information:
I am a Hoosier transplanted in Dallas, TX.

I share my birthdate with the USMC but they are a couple of years older than me.

I have two fantastic sons, one Chico (dog) and one Chloe (cat) and many wonderful friends and an extended family that continues to grow.

How are you doing Susan? Hope you stop by SP once in a while. I'm still here four years later, almost 30 pounds gone, but that last 10 just won't disappear without a fight. Maybe one of these days I'll get busy and do what is needed to lose it. Take care and stop by some time to say hello!

thanks for following my photos. I'm having a hard time getting back online, but I am still sparking! Maintaining my weight and walking dogs (I have 3!) daily keeps me in shape. But a nice bicycle ride with my friend Susan would be great! :) (check goodies)
