As I lose, I gain [myself]

Getting back on the wagon.

I've been overweight my whole life, and I'm sick of it! I can only remember being happy with my size at one time in my life, which was after I lost 40kgs during my first year of university. I've put all that weight back on now.

I want to be healthy and fit, and not feel trapped in this heavy body.

I've been a member of SparkPeople since September 2008, and have mucked around losing some weight only to put it back on.

But recently I feel like I've had my "lightbulb moment". I really realise what I've been doing to myself, and the effects it is having on my husband and son.

It's going to take time and a lot of effort and discipline to get down to my final goal, but I know it will be worth it to be able to do so much more not being held back by unfitness and embarrassment over my body.

My first goal is to lose 5% of my start weight, then 10% and so on and so forth.

Whenever possible I walk, rather than drive.

For every TV programme I watch, I do 10 minutes on my stair stepper. I am also going to start doing so pilates.

Personal Information:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. The third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic (universal) church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Other Information:
"... I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Been in Vegas 20+ yrs. Still cold, but not as cold as Alex. See they got a hi of 0c today...brrr

Thank you for the gift though it wasn't necessary. I have probably felt the same as you, just for different reasons. That's life, ya know? If you want you can talk to me, I like to converse on any topic and I know how helpful support can be, even if we don't realize we need it - or want!

Keep going! :-)
