Greetings and salutations, SparkPeople!
This is my last shot before trying gastric bypass. The idea of surgery frightens me. I want to lose weight and get stronger the healthy way before resorting to this last option. I'd like to be reasonably active and healthy once again. I have phobias that I am working on that have prevented me so far from being the thin I want to be again. The stages of shock, denial, fear, resentment, anger and even bargaining. I am finally in rebuilding and on my way to acceptance.
My main interests are in art, creative writing, music, video games, culinary arts/gastronomy and sci/fi - fantasy entertainment. I have an off-kilter sense of humor, *see one of my pictures.* I like to help people when I can and enjoy a good conversation. I am becoming more knowledgable in the aspect of better nutrition and attempting fitness the best I can.
With the help of my amazing boyfriend of 2 years now, he encourages my every dream and goal. I want to live a long, happy life with him and this is a good place to start making that a reality. For my own health and well-being so I can enjoy the future with my loved ones, this is my reason for joining SparkPeople.

Work on my artwork/creative projects more.
Spend quality time with friends/family.
I eat 60-70% fat, 20-30% protein and 5-10% carbs out of 2000 calories max. I eat a few times a day with a snack if I feel peckish. I cut my soda out and coffee down to the weekends due to the caffeine affecting my thyroid. Who knew bacon, cheese and broccoli would make me lose weight?! Ketogenic is the way to go.
I do cardio and strength training 3 to 5 times a week.
Anything fat-free can be hurled back to the marketing black hole it came from.
I also have a "free weekend" policy where I splurge and keep calories and content reasonable. This has been working the best.
