Hello!

MY GOAL: To become the Sara I've finally been able to envision. She's a healthy weight, strong, active, fun, and dedicated to her inner self.

This includes spirituality (I'm kinda new age I guess), health (go, SP!), and creativity (I wanna be a potter when I grow up!).

MY HISTORY: The short story is that I was 160 lbs by age 9, and 377 at age 27. Gastric bypass brought me down to 250ish, then over the next 5 years I regained to my current weight.

I need to connect with my body, feel confident again, start moving, and lose the rest of the poundage! Wish me luck!


~~~~~~~~~~~ MY REASONS FOR WEIGHT LOSS ~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~ I need to re-read these often! LOL ~~~~~~~~~~
* Increase self-esteem.
* Improve energy level.
* Be able to do more physical activites!
* Control anxiety & depression better.
* Feel comfortable with my body, own it.
* Not have to worry about bp, cancer, joints, skin, etc.
* Buying clothes.
* Finding a man (a.k.a. sperm donor. Ha! JK!)
* Have A Healthy Body For Future Babies (Yay!)
* Having Plastic Surgery.

* Initial increased anxiety (food taken away).
* New self I've never known (never ever been thin).
* Binge eating issues. (Eating for ALL emotions, somehow
liking or needing the physical discomfort, guilt about
food, punishing with food, etc.)
* Temptations at work (Convenience store... I know.)
* Depression & anxiety.

* Learn that food is a tool.
* Love myself more. Don't be so harsh. Treat myself like future kids.
* Find a way to stop rebelling against structure, routine.
* Keep on top of psych aspects - new dr., meds, counseling.
* Move. I loved yoga, even at 377, and liked walking at one time.
* Have fun. Don't become too strict and risk giving up when I then feel like I'm not doing "good enough".

NO FOOD JOURNAL. I completely rebel against it since I've been forced to do crap like that since I was 9. I'm going to trust that I remember what and how much to eat.

I'M NOT GOING TO FREAK OUT OVER NUMBERS. My clothes will tell me. My breathing will tell me. My sweat glands will tell me. I've got to learn to re-connect with my body, not with numbers.

I'M GONNA SHOOT FOR OVERALL HEALTH. I'm not doing low carb or low fat. I'm going to try to focus on what that food can GIVE me. Like a guy! If it can't offer me more than a moment's pleasure, screw 'em! (Or don't, I guess, depending on how you read that statement! haha.)

I'm crazy for pottery! Recently started making it again. I love it so much that I feel drunk when I leave the studio. Mmm...claayy.

I have a dog and 4 cats.

I took over a small convenience store (I know, talk about temptation! ugh...) in a town with a population of...get this...about 30. ha!

I have a small house, and love gardening. I've bartended and loved it - surprising for how shy I once was! I also sing karaoke whenever I get a chance.

When I had gastric bypass, I created a To Do list of things I've always wanted to do. After surgery, I crossed a lot of those things off the list. Now I need to get back to where I was and cross off MORE!!!

    Hey! so nice to read yur note! I really did not make it to the pottery studio in Blacksburg VA over the winter due to the heavy snows; once things started warming up hubby & I have been busy working on the house/farm preparing things for solar system instal.. I hope to get back in the studio the end of this month though.

    Hi, Mimulusbug! And anyone else who's comment I haven't seen. Lol. I wasn't using SP, I had used MyFitnessPal instead for awhile. Then I changed email addresses and no longer saw the SP notifications. (Well, there were about 2 years of Yahoo locking me out of my email so I couldn't even check, but let's not get me started on that. I'm STILL trying to get all online accounts switched over to the new email address.)

    How goes it? Any pottery going on? And healthwise?
