Fat Girls On A Mission!

I have come together with a couple of my friends to create a blog for real people with real weight problems. We are going to talk about our own trials and tribulations, our own successes, give advice we have learned, share instructions on workout, etc. Eventually there will be blank charts for those of you who like to track food or exercise on paper rather than or in addition to tracking on the computer.

Sometimes we might fall on our faces, yes there is a video on the way of one ...

2012 has begun and with it a new me! I am staying on track in the first week. I am reaching my goals and I am feeling strong. I know it is the first week, but I have not felt this determined and motivated in a LONG time. I got this! 2012 is the year I don't let myself down!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

My birthday is fast approaching once more and yet again I have set goals and long since given up on them. I have to break this pattern before it become me entire life. I have decided that my weight, self discipline, and food are not my enemies. The enemy which must be taken down? INSTANT GRATIFICATION! We a all succumb to it at one point in time, well I have succumb enough for 1000 lifetimes so no more! Yes that cake will taste sooo yummy now, but tomorrow it will make me sad. The scale does not make me sad, the cake and my lack of strength against the enemy does. So no more! Let's attack the real culprit!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

So this year I am giving MYSELF a Mother's Day Present. I do not wish to lose weight or to get fit. I find it to be too narrow for my needs. This year my big goal is to work on my self discipline. I CAN be the person I want to be I just need to keep myself in line, stop fighting against myself and bringing myself down, and learn to just BE the person I want to be. I can do this. Others have. How am I so different?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

My name is Nicole. I am a single mother of the most wonderful little boy alive. (maybe I am a little biased lol) I make beaded jewelry, am going to school for art and psychology, and I am living with my mother so that I can do all this and stay home with my little one until he is off to school and I can get a good job.

My little man has a special little story. He was born missing half the bones in his foot, including two toes, and one of the the bones in his lower leg (fibula). When he was about 8 months old his foot was amputated and he now has a prosthetic leg. This little boy is one of the biggest inspirations a person can have. Even with all that has gone on and all that has been "wrong" with him he still managed to start walking early, start running 2 days after his first steps, and climb everything in sight! lol When he wears pants and shoes that cover his prosthetic, you can't even tell he is different from your average child.

Not only is he physically capable and amazing, but he also has a great personality. Even drugged up after surgery he was smiling and charming the nurses. He is bullheaded, sweet, considerate, and very smart.

I tell you all this not so everyone can "ooo and ahhh" over my son, but because I want you all to truly understand the biggest driving force in my life. I can tell already that he is going to be very active and more than likely into sports. I need to be able to be the best mommy I can be and to be able to keep up with him.

Sure I have my own vanity reasons for getting fit, but as much as I want to look good, looking good is not the most important factor. Being a loving, healthy, and active mommy will be the best thing I can ever do in my life.

Hey girlie! I don't know if you can make it, but Laya and I are going to try and do Stone Mountain Sunday morning. I have to head to N. GA on Sunday morning by 11, Anthony is doing the warrior dash. So, we are going to go early...probably like 8. I'm going to post it on GALS.

Thanks for being proud of me!!! My success is one part me, and one part super supportive friends like you!!! :) Love ya!

Hi Nicole--so glad to see you've joined the Ladies Without Limits team! It's been one of the key reasons I've kept on this road to losing 100 pounds! The accountability & encouragement from these ladies really helped keep me going.

So glad you're part of the team--I've added you as a friend so we can continue this healthy lifestyle together!
