Ready to Lose!

I am 23 years old. I am a college student and I am working to get my degree in Communication and will be graduating one year from now! :) About a year ago, I was diagnosed with Polycsytic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), it was something that was over looked by my family doctor and had it been treated earlier, I wouldn't have had to go through so much. I gained a lot of weight in a short amount of time, and it is just now slowly, VERY SLOWLY, starting to come off. PCOS is very closely related to ...
PCOS is very closely related to diabetes, so my body thinks that whatever I eat is a sugar and stores it as a fat, so it makes this whole process harder. :( However, I want to lose this weight! I am in a few weddings coming up and hope to have one myself in a few years! :) I think the hardest thing for me to get through is finding the motivation to work out and keep track of the things I eat through a journal. I love fitness and learning about it. I know a lot about it and healthy eating and stuff but, motivation has be beat some days. Any advice is appreciated.

You can look at a mountain as a wild place of beauty to view or paint or photograph from a safe distance; or a wild place capable of destruction like Mount St. Helens. Or you can look at it as a wild challenge that you take on one step at a time. When you begin the challenge you'll have no idea how long it will take to get to the top, but you know you will with the support of your team.

At the Weekly Challenge(s) Team, we'll help you climb that mountain. You'll find us on the rocky slopes, the shady valleys, the wild flower meadows, the glacier lakes. New Challenges are starting every Sunday.

I'll be watching for your posts at the Weekly Challenge Team

DONE GIRL, Listen to this series by ROBERT LUSTIG M.D. on YouTube as he explains why we have gotten fat. He lists PCOS and says it affects 10% of women.

Also, Richard Johnson M.D. has a lecture on YouTube that is worth listening to. It covered his book "The Sugar Fix."

I read your intro and it felt as though I were reading about myself - well, except the part where you are 23, and have PCOS - I am also struggling with motivation and with logging in a journal what I eat. I wish you every success young, beautiful girl. emoticon emoticon emoticon
