Time to get the lead out

Hi! I'm a woman in my fifties and I have reached a crossroads in my life. Husband and I have been Empty nesters for nearly three years and we have been enjoying rediscovering ourselves as a couple. Have been enjoying traveling and getting out more for social events but this sure has helped me put on weight. A classic yo-yo, I guess, I go through periods of maintaining a healthy weight for several years and then suddenly pack on 15-30 pounds. When I signed up for SP two years ago, I was up ...
When I signed up for SP two years ago, I was up 15. When I finally decided to actually do it in January of this year, I was up 20. Finally have it back under control and my goal is in sight. Success has been in no small part thanks to support on SP.

*******
I try to count my blessings every day. I thank God for my family, my friends, the roof over our heads and the food on our tables. May He give me the grace to use His gifts wisely and with gratitude.

To be healthy
To eat healthy
To live an active life
To exercise faithfully

My Program:
Cleared the cabinets of junk food and filled them and the fridge with healthy alternatives. Have increased my fruits and vegetables and added in lots of whole grains. Out walking 3-4 miles each day.

Personal Information:
Hi, I'm Patrice ~ I am 53 years old, married to a wonderful, supportive husband for nearly 30 years, and mom to two boys now in their 20's. We live in Massachusetts in the snow belt where a 'good' winter is only 120 inches. LOL. Have been fighting my weight most of my life but am finally committed to making a healthy life-style change instead of constantly feeling I am on a diet.

Welcome to Where are YOU walking to! If you haven't yet picked a destination there are some of us walking to Penguin Island off the coast of Australia in the Challenge Forum. There are different length walks to choose from and you are welcome to pick one and jump in. Several of us are in our 50s, so I suspect we have a little bit of something in common. For example, we probably saw Sound of Music for the first time in a movie theater! Anyway, welcome to the team!

thanx for stopping by my page

interesting how many of us have learnt how to use food for just about everything except for fuel.......and i sure hope we can all do our lil part for the next generations about learning much better-- it's scary seeing the projected stats for the future of today's kids.......

and maybe letting people find a good way to "feel"- instead of smothering......maybe we can all get a lil healthier!

hope you're doing well
