***Try joining a spark team. The support and motivation that comes with belonging to a team will help you stay on track. This can be found under “Community”.

***Make short term goals. They will help reaching your long term goals manageable. If you look under “My Trackers” click on “Other Goals” and you can set your short term and long term goals. Sparkpeople offers some for you to choose from or you can create your own.
***Try using the nutritional tracker. It really makes it easier to stay within your daily nutritional goals. This can be found under “My Trackers”.
***Read the many success stories to help you stay focused and motivated. This can be found under “Community”.
***Be patient. This is a journey not a marathon. If you need support during your journey please feel free to email me anytime. I am more than happy to be your spark friend during your journey.
***Check out Challenge Central. There are many challenges designed to keep you on track such as the Official 10-Minute Daily Exercise Streak Challenge, SparkPeople 8-Week Diabetes Weight Loss Challenge, Official 28-Day Bootcamp Workout Challenge, and many others that may interest you. This can be found under “Community”.
***Under the “Community” tab you’ll find Secrets of Success. There you will find tips from members to help make your journey easier.

Hey Sheila, I'm happy to see that you have returned! I am a fairly new member but I have already learned so much and there is SO much support available here. What a great accomplishment (losing 100lbs) and coming back after deleting your account is just as much of an accomplishment because you got right back on track. But don't be disgusted with yourself for gaining weight--you're human just like the rest of us. I have read a lot of articles on this site talking about how much how we talk to ourselves and how we phrase our goals (etc etc etc) has to do with our progress--I'm sure you've read some of the same articles but I find that it's really helped me with Treating myself- (my emotional self) with the same respect that my goals are in place to treat my physical (health/weight) self. And both are of equal importance in losing and keeping off the weight long-term! :) Stay positive!
Welcome to Spark. You have taken the first step on your journey by joining! I've been a member a little more than two years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained 30 back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going! Explore the site, make your Sparkpage, join teams, and make friends.
