First, God bless your family for their service to our country! Second, way to go on dropping a size!!! We all go through some tough times and it's a credit to you that you are re-committing yourself. As a Type 2 you face additional challenges, but I have to say that the food I eat are those that are also healthy for my husband(Type 2). I am still trying to convince him that freedom from the meds lies in strength training and exercise. He's very active, but has "gym-a-phobia". Stick with the SP program and you'll be able to overcome your obstacles! Thanks for you kind words, and have a happy holiday season.

Hello Debbie! Welcome to the 50+ team. I was visting your web page and I wondered what part of Illinois you came from. I was born and raised in a little town called Bunker Hill. Some bigger towns around are Springfield, Alton, Edwardsville and Carbondale. Don't know if you are familiar with any of these. My husband and I married in 1971 a year after he joined the Navy. We will be married 37 yrs next month. He retired after serving 27 yrs. We do have a few things in common.

I am 56 and I have 4 grown children, 11 grandchildren, one of whom is deceased. I need to lose at least 40 lbs and probably more for the sake of my health and my knees.

It is great to have you join us. Please email me sometime.

Susan from TN
