First, God bless your family for their service to our country! Second, way to go on dropping a size!!! We all go through some tough times and it's a credit to you that you are re-committing yourself. As a Type 2 you face additional challenges, but I have to say that the food I eat are those that are also healthy for my husband(Type 2). I am still trying to convince him that freedom from the meds lies in strength training and exercise. He's very active, but has "gym-a-phobia". Hello Debbie! Welcome to the 50+ team. I was visting your web page and I wondered what part of Illinois you came from. I was born and raised in a little town called Bunker Hill. Some bigger towns around are Springfield, Alton, Edwardsville and Carbondale. Don't know if you are familiar with any of these. My husband and I married in 1971 a year after he joined the Navy. We will be married 37 yrs next month. He retired after serving 27 yrs. We do have a few things in common.
I am 56 and I have 4 grown children, 11 grandchildren, one of whom is deceased. I need to lose at least 40 lbs and probably more for the sake of my health and my knees.
