I am a 63 year old retired RN. I have had a weight problem since my 20's. I AM A FOODIE. I love good food and I love to cook. When my wife and I travel we always look for great places to eat. Like Mother and Sons (Paula Deen's place in Savannah.) , little Italy in Boston, The Mark Twain Dinner in Hannibal and Sea food on any wharf. You get the idea. We also love to go to festival. Why there is always great food.
Now it's time to take control. I know if I learn good eating habits and exercise I will still be able to enjoy all the foods I love. Just not as much.
I love exercise. Cycling is my number one sport. I have completed 4 century bike rides and competed in 3 sprint triathlons. So I have learned how to train. I had a change in my work schedule a few years ago that made it hard for me to train. I am retired now so I have no excuses. I'm going for it now.
Sweating is not a swear word. When you sweat your body releases endorphin and andanandamide. They are the" Bliss Molecule" that make you happy. So don't be afraid to get sweaty. "Sweat =Bliss" Christopher Bergland.

My Goals:
1. I will lose 40lbs by 1st of July!
2. I will complete 3 Century bike rides this year
3. I will compete in 2 Triathlons this year.
4. I will devote more time reading the bible.
5. Eat clean and journal my food intake(I have never been consistent about it before. I feel it will be the key to my success.).


My Program:
1. 90 min of cardio 6xwk
2. Strength training 3xwk
3. Yoga 3xwk
4. Swim as often as time permits.
5. Eat Clean.
6. 8 glasses of water/day
7. Stay positive.
8. Get motivate everyday by SPARKPEOPLE.



Personal Information:
1. 5 cenutry bike rides (one was 115 miles)
2. 3 sprint triathlons.
3. Tandem skydiving (biggest rush ever.)
4. Hiked the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim in one day at 63.(Hardest thing I've done.)
5. Ran several 5K's.
6. Scuba dived.
7. Took Surfing lessons. (want do more of that.)

    Oh, if I did the STP, I'd probably have to force myself to do it in 3 days. As for Vancouver Island, there's a 60 mile guided tour I was looking at last year, which sounds kind of cheesey, so I want to spend a little time mapping out a route, or seeing what else is available. I'm still working up to your level, and I tend to hibernate in the summer, so it wouldn't be until Sept. or Oct.
