Starting AGAIN!

I plan to start TurboFire on Monday. We'll see how it goes and how I feel this time. I really started planning everything yesterday as far as what food I'm going to eat and what I need to buy. Even though this is already going to be a busy weekend with Mother's Day and all, I have to fit in shopping for what I need and get it done by Sunday. I'll try to get measurments in, too. And maybe pictures.

I did pretty well with sticking to Chalean extreme and then somethng beyond my control cut that short. I'm going to try to do the best I can to finish this through! I figure if I'm not feeling up to working out, I'll at least put my workout clothes on and push the play button - that usually works to get me going.

Well, good luck to me!

Although I have always had a problem with my weight in my adult years, I didn't actually do anything serious about it until just a few years ago. Nothing else worked for me because I was not mentally ready for the change in lifestyle that I would have to make in order to lose the weight. I also had a lot of stress going on in my life and realized why I had such a hard time controlling my eating. I found that I ate when I was stressed, sad, mad or even happy. I celebrated with food and made eating a way for me to "feel better." Emotional eating was causing me to gain more weight -- on top of having a desk job! Sitting at the computer for 8+ hours a day and eating poorly was a sure way to gain weight!

I knew I was overweight and was unhappy but didn't know what to do about it. I knew I couldn't give up the pizza, hamburgers, french fries and brownies I loved so much, so I thought I would look into exercise to get started. It would have to be something more than just "walking a mile every day or "taking the elevator instead of the stairs/" I did find something unique - then it was Turbo Jam. A cardiokicking program that incorporated some punching, kicking and moving to some great get-up-and-move music. I started with this in 2006. I did it as much as I could, but I weighed about 219 pounds at that time and it was hard to move. I really liked it though and kept it up. I wasn't keeping track of weight loss then, but trying to create the new habit of making the time to exercise. I went on Weight Watchers and lost 15 pounds. That was the first time I had lost any great amount of weight. I kept it off over the next couple of years. Around 2008 is when my doctor introduced us to the HCG diet. I ended up losing another 17 pounds. I ended up gaining a small amount back, again, because of stress, and it being the holidays. The following year 2009, I started on HCG again on my own and I lost 22 more pounds. After that time, I decided to get back into exercise and found I was able to do more. I went back to Turbo Jam and even tried ChaLEAN extreme, the best strength training program in my opinion, and was able to complete 2 out of 3 months. My body went through a really great transformation and I lost some inches and gained muscle. Nothing changed much on the scale, but I could feel it in they way my clothes fit and how different I looked in my before and after pictures. I also ordered Chalene Johnson's new workout program TurboFire. I did that on and off for a while and can't wait to get back to it to hopefully finish it this time!

I didn't give up the foods that I liked, but learned to eat less of them and less often. I also learned there are ways to prepare them differently. I also started changing over to whole grains and used brown rice, whole grain bread and whole wheat pasta. So I made little changes along the way.

I had been having problems with overwhelming fatigue years prior to even starting to lose weight and aches and pains throughout my body. I was told I had possible fibromyalgia, possible lupus, but was never formally diagnosed. I began having right lower back pain which caused problems with motivation with exercise. I gave up for awhile and decided to do HCG again since I made so much progress with it. I was getting frustrated with my not feeling up to exercise and being in pain but still wanting to lose the weight and I felt HCG would be a diet to turn to again for this reason. I just completed phase 2 and am in phase 3.

My current weight is - 161! That is a total weight loss of 58 pounds (kind of sounds like a line from the Biggest Loser). It took me a few years to get here, but it just takes me a while to lose weight...I'm not in a hurry as I know it will come off with patience, eating right and exercise when I can.

My ultimate goal is to be around 130. Seems so far away, but then again, closer than ever!

Thank you for the blog comment the other day. I sure was in complete shock when I got on the scale and it read that I had dropped the 20 pounds. I actually got on and off of it a few times just to make sure it was the right read! I've only got a little less than a week left and then I'm onto P3. I figure I'll be doing my R2 starting on Christmas Eve. Might as well have my 2 load days when I can enjoy all the family goodies!
What have you been up to lately?

I'm starting to think that 11 might be all I get too...LOL I had a Fage day yesterday to hopefully get me back in the right direction and I've now stalled...weighed this morning and it's the same as yeasterday. I'm taking that for a good thing, much better than a gain! So today I'm on protocol and we shall see what tomorrow brings. I think that I'm going to make up some soup for dinner tonight. I'm looking forward to P3 mostly because it will allow me more freedom around the holidays. I'm planning my next round to start mid Jan and hopefully that will be the last one I need!

Have a great day today, let me know how P3 is going. emoticon

Just popping by to see how you were doing this week. I've gone up and down and back up so far this week. Today I had a Fage day and I'm hoping for a good reading in the morning. Did you have a good weekend?
