After being overweight my entire life, I am finally ready to commit to change. I am tired of the old habits that made me sick, fatigued, overweight, and miserable, and replacing them with actions that make me more vibrant, alive, and joyous.
Sure, I've lost weight, but what really thrills me is that I feel I've really started to live....
I do want to lose weight, but I also just want to be healthier. I am including mindbody practices like yoga and qigong into my routines, and want to get started with meditation again. I am also beginning to practice aikido again, after too long a hiatus.
I am logging all of my food (which really becomes an easy habit after a while).
I have just joined a gym, where I am taking Zumba and Yoga classes. I love hiking, and am lucky to have a friend who loves it, too. I also do aikido, and just started belly dancing.
I also just rediscovered my bike that has been sitting in the garage for ten years, though that uncomfortable seat and my butt are currently having some disagreements. :) Ultimately, though, I want to commute to work by bike.
I am an acupuncturist and massage therapist in CT.
-Movies (my favorites include: The Princess Bride, Donnie Darko, Shawshank Redemption, The Fall, Sling Blade, American Beauty, Memento...)
-Books (Watership Down is just my absolute favorite)
-Absurd Cartoons (such as: Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Homestar Runner, Cartoon Planet, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021...)
-Spirituality (everything from strict Zen Buddhism to really-out-there spiritism... there's great stuff to learn in all of it)
-A ton of stuff I can't think of right now
