Health is a goal for life!
I am 48 years old. I have been overweight almost my entire life. I have a beautiful son, and I want to be on this earth to see him graduate, get married and hopefully give me grandchildren someday. I am 48 years old. I have been overweight almost my entire life. I have a beautiful son, and I want to be on this earth to see him graduate, get married and hopefully give me grandchildren someday. I have tried many diets, but have only been successful when I have changed my eating habits. Unfortunately, I gained 79 pounds when I was pregnant, 11 years ago and have only added more weight and have not taken any off. After our son was born, he was diagnosed with a rare genectic disorder that caused him to have congestive heart failure. This heart failure eventually led to a heart transplant when he was 2 years old. He spent 11 weeks on total life support and would not be here today if he had not gotten "the gift of life". I encourage everyone to become an organ donor. It is truly a rare and precious gift. This was a very stressful time for us. Even after transplant, the doctor visits and biopsies do not end. He also has a very rare blood disorder and so he has to have check-ups with Hematology as well as Cardiology every year. The life of a transplant patient is a lifetime of change, not only for the patient, but for loved ones as well. We learned many things about disease, germs and medical procedures over the last 11 years. The biggest thing that people sometimes don't realize is, hand washing is the best way to prevernt the spread of disease. I had to throw that in there! I love my son and want to be able to do more with him and for him. Doing everyday task, can leave me with joint and muscle pain that last for days. I don't let it stop me, but I do have to take breaks and rest. I have always been a high energy person and am always doing laundry, picking up or just general task and I also home school my son. As I get older the pain seems to get worse and the task harder to complete and I want to change this! I want to be healthy! I am a Christian and I believe that God is my number one supporter. I've known I needed to loose this weight for a long time, but I have had no motivation. God can't help me if I don't help myself. I feel I have come to the end of my rope. Though I do not suffer from any illness from my weight, it could happen anytime. I think my biggest fear is that eventually this weight will kill me. So there's my story. Let's pray it has a happy ending. Weigh In Dates & Pounds Lost Start: 04/05/2009 Date-Pounds Lost 04/17/2009-10
