Hi, My name is Shelly. I'm 47 years old, I have been married for 25 years and I have 3 kids. I have been over weight for most of my life and have had a hard time losing weight. I think I have finally reached the point to where I am finally sick of being over weight and I want to do something about it. My Goals:
My goal is to lose 45 to 50 more pounds and finally be taken off of my medication for Diabetes and high blood pressure. I also want to find a way to relieve my fibromyalgia. It has been a constant battle for yrs.

My Program:
I am adopting the pescatarian life style. Sea food, fruits and veggies and whole wheat pasta or breads in moderation. I am also cutting down my portion sizes. I am walking in the evening with my friends or with my husband. Although my physical activity is limited I try to do something. I try not to eat after 7pm I make sure my kitchen is closed so that I am not tempted to eat in the evenings. It is the hardest time of the day for me so that is one of the most important things in my plan cuz if I am able to access food in the evening, there goes all the hard work i've put into my day! I'm just trying to make a change in my life.

Thanks so much I have been off the sight for a while and I tried to get back to exercising as I want to get back to running again . Due to my injury I thought it would be best to start wit walking so the day before yesterday I walked but maybe 1 hour was to much as the fronts of my ankles really hurt. It is disappointing I am trying to stay on track with my food. I have control of that .

I really needed someone out their to pat me on the back and keep me going thanks for noticing and commenting. emoticon

Thanks for the info Heidishope. I ill try yoga. Im always scared to try anything because it will automatically trigger my fibro but I have to do something. I have been working on the eating part but I have to do something physically. Since I had to stop working I gained 20 lbs and I feel horrible.

Yoga is my secret weapon against Fibro. I always follow any workout with some relaxing and stretching yoga. I also use it in the middle of the afternoon instead of napping...just a relaxing pose for 10-20 minutes. I had to start slow and easy and have worked my way up to being able to do more difficult poses (lizard, tree and eagle). However I can NOT do Sun Salutations--they are too hard on my head and blood pressure. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
