Getting Fit One Day at a Time

My Goals:
My goal is to start treating myself well. I am finally admitting that I need to take care of my body and mind. I've always been busy doing "stuff" and expecting my body to keep on keepin' on. Now I know that it won't happen without help from me.
My Program:
My DH gave me a recumbent bike for Christmas, and I'm using it regularly. I moved a little TV/Video/DVD player in by the bike. I love it because I can ride and catch up on some programs. I'm also paying more attention to what I'm eating and learning to make wiser choices than I have in the past. Old habits are really, really hard to break, though. I think journalising will help, once I have the habit. Finally, I'm learning to take the long view, not to push myself to lose a pound every day. My focus is on the right activities and not on the scale. Not that it isn't fabulous to see it go down, but I'm keeping my eye on the long term goal, not the day-to-day bumps.
Personal Information:
I'm 60 yrs old which is amazing to me. I live in Dayton, OH, and work at a college in business intelligence. Married to my DH for 23 yrs; no children. I have a small jewelry business, also.
Other Information:
Anything that doesn't kill you makes you strong.
