This isn't a diet, it is a healthy way of life. I had to get used to the fact that my new eating plan is forever. This adjustment was difficult. Sometimes it can be a real struggle.

For some reason, I thought that just losing weight would make my life the life I have always wanted. I thought all of my personal issues would just float away and life would be a fairytale. That is just plain not the case! I have to learn to love myself as I am at any weight first. Exercise makes me feel good and gives me confidence but the major part of weight loss is mental. Getting into the nitty gritty of my emotional issues and changing my thoughts about myself is my biggest challenge.

My Program:
I will use food to nourish instead of using it to medicate myself.

I will drink 8 + cups water daily.

I will eat 5+ fruits/veggies daily.

I will choose foods by their nutritional content.

I will add anti-inflammatory foods to my eating plan .

I will do some sort of cardio for 10+ minutes 7 days a week .

I will keep a food diary daily either written or online.

I will stay away from processed foods.

I will get 7+ hours of sleep per day.

I will pace my activities daily.

I will pay attention to pain levels daily.

I will rest and use pain reduction techniques instead of medicating myself with food.

I will be kind to myself if I slip up and will get right back on my program.

Personal Information:
I'm a retired teacher who still loves to learn new things.

I am an optimist and refuse to dwell on the past. It is better to learn from it and move on.

I love animals. Their love is unconditional!

Doing creative activities always lifts my mood and I'm already a happy person to begin with!

Other Information:
I enjoy:
Reading, photography, crafts, helping other people, music, creative healthy cooking, exercising in water, using my brain, being creative, acting silly/laughing, and learning new things.

    emoticon ....for stopping by my blog to read and comment...I appreciate the support!

    I do plan to start back with just 2 days of strength training since I'm also starting to run a little bit, but the more I'm up moving around today, the more I realize I still feel just a little bit off balance. :/ I just plan to work around the house today and not do any planned exercise or furniture moving LOL, so I should be able to handle that. There is always tomorrow!

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl.
