nothing makes you realize that you're not very interesting like a little box where you're suppose to type in things about you that are interesting.

I play the piano. Does that count? Funny thing about playing the piano is the number of people who say they would just kill to be able to play what I play. Yea cause it's magic, I just rolled out of bed and could do this. Sure like anything, you have to not just want to do it but want to put in the time to do it.

that's my sermon for the day

I just saw your comment on my "bikes and beer" blog. There are lots of people that live in urban areas that have mountain bikes. I see them coming up the hill on the weekends with bikes on racks. Top racks are popular. I have a trailer hitch mounted rack. I am sure that a lot a people just cram their bikes into their vehicles.

Your Giant Iguana is still a useful mountain bike. I owned a very similar bike called the Giant Acapulco. Both the Iguana and the Acapulco have chrome-moly steel frames and are referred to as "rigid", which means the bikes have no suspension. These older bikes also have rim brakes.

Back-in-the day, all mountain bikes were rigid with rim brakes. A few companies, most notably Surly, still make the old-school rigid steel bikes.

These old-school bikes are fine for riding on easy to moderate difficult trails. You have to stand-up a lot because the only suspension you have are your legs. However, even with my long-travel full-suspension bikes I spend a lot of time standing-up.

Thanks, Bruce

Thanks for your nice comment on my "Bike Junkie" blog. Ralphie knew exactly what he wanted! And he almost did put his eye out. Just like Ralphie's "Official Red Rider 200 Shot Range Model Air Rifle", my 2014 Santa Cruz Bronson is a bit dangerous.

Thanks, Bruce

On my wife's first Tri they let people put balloons near their bikes in the transition area. But several others that we've gone to it has not been allowed. So the bucket thing actually has that 3rd benefit ... helping you find you bike!

And I practiced and practiced my transitions a lot. I got it down to just over a minute or so...in practice. During the ACTUAL event I had more like 3-4 minute transitions a I sat and drank some water, squirted some gel in my mouth ... more water. Walk my bike out ... hahaha

Heh ... got your comments on my blogs (the Slow runner one ... and the Ew one).

I'm amazed you were the only one to say "Ew" on bloody stumps haha. And, it never occurred to me to photoshop a better time in on those run photo ops. I bet I can use that same concept on that SLOW sign and mebe put in, 1st Place!
