I'm ready

Like so many others, I have yo-yo'd on diets for years. I've found that I can always take the weight off, but my biggest challenge is keeping it off. With the help of the SP community, I am confident that this will make the difference. I am very excited to have found such a supportive, wonderful corner of the internet where there is assistance in helping me achieve some important personal goals. I am committed to leading a healthier lifestyle and meeting some great friends along the way.

My Goals:
Some of my goals are:
1. Shed pounds (and keep them off)
2. Quit smoking
3. Make healthier food choices
4. Stay active in SP

My Program:
I am no longer going to be a sloth/slug. I am making a concerted effort each day to eat healthier and get off my butt to do things I really enjoy like cycling, walking, and hiking. I utilize gadgets like a heart rate monitor and GPS program on my iPhone to track my exercise.

Personal Information:
I moved to Southern AZ about 1.5 years ago. It was a huge life change that I am happy to have made. AZ is conducive to an outdoor lifestyle due to its amazing climate and beautiful, mountainous scenery.

I just came across your page and am so motivated by your biking and the fact that you were able to kick the smoking habit. I'm in that place right now and it's soooo hard! People like you give me hope that it is so possible.

Wow 19 days without cigarettes? Awesome! You're right quitting smoking is WAAY more important than gaining a few pounds that you will lose later. I gained like, 7 pounds when I quit.. but i didn't care!!

Hey thanks for the blog comment! I decided to change my ticker to reflect my true starting and end weight. I guess I thought that 120 pounds was a "skinny weight" that I should try for. I don't know why I thought that. When I was a senior in high school my weight was 138 and I was working out hard playing sports and hardly eating.
I guess I could keep going and see how my body feels.
How are you? How is the smoke-free journey going? I hope everything is well with ya.
