AplusGurl's ~Journey to the Warrior ME!~

---Ok so update time, I managed to lose 75 lbs in just over 2 years, but after starting college last year, Freshman 15 got me! Well.. actually it was more like Freshman 18! The good news is, I have managed to get 10lbs of that weight off this summer! I start back to college next week and I am NOT going to let those bad habits resurface! I am pleased to be a Co-Leader of the Done Being the Fat Girl Spark Team, and my hope is that it will help me continue till I reach my final goal!---

My name is Becky and I have been overweight my entire life. I am a country girl that grew up on white beans and cornbread . Food was never scarce in our household and I always came home to a home cooked meal. I was overweight as a child , teen-ager,and then when I became a junior- It happened, I hit 300 lbs! Once I realized I was out of control, I decided to take control and joined Weight Watchers (along with the support of my Mother) and in less than a year, I lost 80 lbs! I was so close to my goal but for some reason I stopped going to the meetings and started putting the weight back on. I teetered back and forth for years and would lose upto 50lbs and then gain it back plus more! At the age of 25 I suffered a severe stroke . The stroke was never traced down to my weight but I always knew it was a factor. At one point, I was weighed and reached my top weight of 320. This was exactly what I needed to scare me into shape- right?-Well you would think so but it did not last. I would spend the next 10 years yo-yoing yet again. I married the love of my life in 2006 and he is a very healthy good looking man. I am not sure how I got such a physically attractive man and he became my inspiration to become a better , healthier woman! I lost weight again and kept it off for a year.Anthony and I went on vacation in March 2010 and and when we got back , I realized that once again -I hit that dreaded 3 mark! I completely panicked and back on the diet roller coaster once again. This time I was going to do it right and keep the weight off! It was time to change my eating habits once and for all! I managed to lose 30lbs over the coarse of 8 months but hit many plateaus along the way .This brings is to the present-I joined Weight Watchers at work in December 2010 and started the Points Plus program. I have already started learning healthy habits -with the help of my husband (my greateat inspiration) and now I am ready to change my life for good! I am taking this journey one meal and one activity at a time.

So that is my story and I have decided that a am DONE with several things in my life....

DONE with excuses (not just with food but in general)
DONE with not looking like the beauty that is inside.
DONE with regrets
DONE with not feeling like a smart confident woman!
DONE with feeling inferior.
DONE with being a FOLLOWER
DONE with thinking that being overweight is NO BIG DEAL( it's a LIE!!!)
DONE with the PAST and looking forward to the FUTURE!
With that said I am DONE. Weight and Health IS a big deal! I truly believe that getting off the weight is the FIRST step to being the woman that I want to be!

I just want to let you know that this weight thing has been a life struggle with me since I was a small child. I have NEVER been thin and to be honest, I can't imagine what it would be like but I WILL find out! The weight loss is a small step to becoming who I want to be! I am also a music writer and singer.. My WONDERFUL husband is my biggest inspiration and also the reason why I am able to do this . I finally feel like I am doing what GOD wants me to be doing and I am so excited for the future! BRING IT ON!!!!

I track my food and exercise daily. I do my own thing but follow WW guidelines. I believe in balance. My bottom line is less to no sugar , no white breads, and portion control. This is s LIFE change that I have to do MY way forever!

Other Information:
A few other tidbits bout me... I LOVE Historical fiction, RPG video games, singing, writting music and graphic design. I am a bit of a computer geek but I am more of an Artist. i also enjoy gardening and cooking.
