In a rut!

I'm a very busy mom of 4 children--21, 19 and 17 year old twins. They are very active and keep me running. My Husband and I also own and run 2 businesses--Auto Glass replacement and a self storage facility! On top of all that (in our spare time) I am a Girl Scout Leader, Venture Crew Advisor, Boy Scout Committee member and am very active in the local schools and music departments. Whoo!! Stress??? yup!

Now trying to live with hypothyroidism and possible sjorjan's :( I've had a REALLY stressful year. I lost my father suddenly over the summer-that stress brought out LOTS of physical symptoms which combined with a double in my amount of work required at my job prevented me from getting to Curves and the spiral down continued. In Dec, my 48 yrold husband had a heart attack! He is in good health, great cholesteral levels, good blood pressure, no plaque in his veins........no reason to have had one....drs are baffeled. this is more stressful, cause how can you prevent another one if they don't know why the first one occurred!! ugg

Now heavier than I have ever been in my life--including when I was pregnant with my very large twins! UGGH! VERY little energy and motivation. This is going to be HARD!

My Goals:
I am working on losing the 40 lbs I put on due to back and neck injuries/recovery. I want to get back into shape so that I can enjoy doing the outdoor things with my kids and scouts that I used to do. Now that my metabolism has taken a dive--I need to learn how to keep to serving sizes and quit the "clean my plate" club!

My Program:
Curves workouts 3 times a week followed by 30 minutes stretching/toning. And a 2 mile walk at least 3 times a week. trying to watch food portions

Personal Information:
My name is Patty and I am the mother of 4 children- 20,18, & twins 16. My husband & I own two business and in our spare time (lol) we are leaders for Boy Scouts, Venture Crew, Girl Scouts, and 4-H. I am in my 6thyear recovering from a car accident which left me with neck/back problems. I had back surgery 4/05 and am under therapy for a herniated disk in my neck. I have put on 40 lbs since the accident due to lack of movement and dealing with pain with food.

Hi Patty! Nice to see you again! Yes, I totally agree those challenges were fun, full of support and definitely what kept me going. I have just been trying to "get organized" the last 2 days... revamping my goals, sparkpage, etc. Looking for a challenge was my next step! Who knows? Maybe I will start one... we did go from holiday to holiday as I remember. This weekend would make for a perfect starting point! Looking forward to chatting with you and dropping those pounds together. We did it once... we can do it again! (For good this time) emoticon

I know exactly where you are coming from weight gain from car accident (my accident was October of 2004). I am trying to take off around 42 pounds I almost hit the 200 and freaked out. It is a work in prgress with pains that come and go. Good Luck with your goals....

YAY for setting up your sparkpage! I put instructions on how to add your signature (with your weights in orange) at the bottom of your posts. Go to the July 4th challenge board for the instructions. You'll have to edit your profile, not your SparkPage!!
