This is a simulation of what my body will look like when I weigh 118, which is my goal weight.

This is my current post-baby body shape at 145 lbs. Pretty sexy, but I don't look like this girl.

Showing off my thinner stomach 3 years ago. This is a great motivator.

I have 10 pics in my gallery

26.2!! in October

I'm training for my first marathon this year. I'm doing it to celebrate being a first-time mother, to stay fit and focused, and also to prove to myself that I can be as athletic as I was as a gymnast. My dad died from a heart attack earlier this year. I'm going to exercise and take care of myself, like he never did, and change the future that would surely be diabetes and heart disease like many people in my family have experienced.

My Goals:
Short Term Goal: Run marathon in October.
Long Term Goal: Have enough energy for baby #2.

My Program:
High, lean protein, high fiber, and complex carbs that register low on the glycemic index. 25-30 miles per week of running, including 1 long run per week that increases by 10% every other week. Strength training 2x per week.

Other Information:
Being outside is a huge motivator. During the winter, sports like skiing and snowboarding help me stay focused on my fitness goals. I would like to start training for a triathalon.

Hi Aokiiris,

I just wanted to wish you luck on your marathon. You've done really well on your weight loss so far. ... congrats! I first clicked on your page when I saw the rock-climbing thumbnail. I used to rock-climb so thought I'd check out what you had to say. Then, I saw your marathon goal. I have run 4 marathons in the past, but stopped running when my husband & I had trouble conceiving a child. We had no luck with that, so I went to grad school to "add something" to my life. That was a very busy time (and my dad died in my last year), so running (and my artwork) got pushed to the back burner. I graduated in October, and seem to have settled into some kind of low-energy mode. My last marathon was way back in Apr. 2000. I just joined SP yesterday and am feeling a new rush of motivation. I think I'll just set my goals for a 10K race by the spring. Which marathon are you doing in October? My husband is thinking of registering for either Akron, OH (end of Sept.) or Wineglass (Corning, NY) in October. He has to decide soon as he needs to tweak his training to fit the date.

All the best to you! Keep up the amazing work!
Sandra
