From hopeless to ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

I have been piling on the pounds for nearly 10 years now. I was able to lose some weight in 2002 in preparation for my upcoming wedding (2003).

Then, my plan was simple.

- I reduced my portions
- I went to the gym 2-3 times a week

With this very simple plan I went from 157 to 132 in about 4 months.

I need to get back to that.

After that amazing weightloss, I gained and gained and had 2 kids (gained and lost) and then gained ...

After that amazing weightloss, I gained and gained and had 2 kids (gained and lost) and then gained some more in 2010 (15 lbs). The highest weight I saw on the scale was 176 lbs.

I am now realizing that it's mental. I have to change how I think. Otherwise, I will keep on losing the same 40lbs over and over again.

I decided to stop dieting. I've read and heard people say that but I never knew what that really meant until I was faced with the nutrition tracker. I watch the amount of calories I intake every day. So far I realize that if I don't snack on junk, I don't eat enough calories. I need to change that.

I tried Atkins last year and I think it really did a number on my health. My vow, no more low carb and not eating fruits and diary products. No more eliminating a whole food group for fast results. This way of thinking has not helped me at all.

I've added back all the things I had stopped eating in hopes that I would shed pounds. What I really need to do is be conscious of the amount I eat per meal and not go overboard every day.

So far it's working... Thank you Sparkpeople!

Program in 2011:
Lose 1-1,5lbs a week until I reach my goal weight.

Stay within my daily

I will be tracking my food to be aware of how much I really eat and make the necessary corrections before it gets out of hand when needed.

Really and truly exercise 3 days or more per week.
****I really need to work on that one*****

Personal Information:

I'm glad to say that my weight does not define me. I am very happy, love life, my family and God.

We can do it Annykeyz! I'm down a little and to keep the momentum going I'm off for a walk and bike ride at the park. Here's what I've noticed and you can probably identify with this when you lost weight before your wedding. You reduced your portion sizes and went to the gym a few times a week. It seems I'm watching every morsel and working out like a crazy person and nothing happens. I'm being less strict (within reason) and this seems to be what works for me. have a wonderful Fourth!

Thank you so much for the kind compliments on my picture blog! I read your page and I can completely understand about recycling those same 40 pounds! I had a misstep yesterday when I hosted a birthday party for my guy and indulged in one, or two or was that four too many cupcakes! I realize that this journey IS mostly mental. SO, with that said, I'm going to attempt an at home work out so I don't feel like a complete loser! Thanks for the encouragement and the friend add!

Every time you fall, get right back up the next moment. So it doesn't matter if this is your 100th time re-starting your plan to get to your goal health and weight... the point is that you re-started.

Thanks for the add. I'm adding you back, and looking forward to seeing you on your journey. Staying tuned...
