I CAN DO IT!!!

I was lucky growing up. My parents were both very active. We went biking and hiking and camping often, and we always ate very well (Think spinach noodles and tofu instead of baby food). Before preschool I had never heard the word "cookie." As I got older I learned about junk food and fell in love with it!

I didn't eat well as a teenager but was lucky because I was growing like crazy! I was also involved in soccer and other sports, so I was very muscular. I didn't gain weight until after high school, when I gained about 25 pounds!

Now I am ready to change. I have tried many times to lose weight, but always half-heartedly and never with a long term goal in mind. I have been taught how to eat well, and I know how to exercise. It took me almost a month on this site to really get going, but now I'm addicted to SP! I finally feel like I can be in control of my body, and this time I will finish what I started. YAY!

My Goals:
I remember feeling like an athlete. My goal is to feel like that again. I want that feeling of power after a long workout, when you can feel every muscle in your body tensing as you walk. You feel strong and powerful. You are energized. You are aware and in control of your movements. It is one of the best feelings in the world, especially when it has taken a lot of hard work to get there.

Another main goal is to lose sizes. My tummy and love handles are my main concern- everything is much jigglier than it used to be, and nothing fits well into pants when it is all squishy...

I also am working on consistency in exercising and eating, and trying to replace my little "treats" with healthier options.

My Program:
I've found that I have the most energy if I do a cardio workout at least every other day, weight train every other day, and eat between 1250-1400 calories per day.

Personal Information:
I am a very spontaneous person and have trouble keeping a consistent fitness routine. Lately between taking university classes and working full time, I barely manage to get any exericse in. I hate feeling flabby!
