Your stats minus not knowing your height are similar to mine. I started out at 231 and goal is to get to 155 at least. Though I will reevaluate that when I get there because I am really suppose to be smaller than that but I am not going by a chart, I am going by how I feel. I am almost down to 40 lb loss at a slow steady pace. I am also 37 and a mother of 2 soon to be 38 though. Congratulations on making the first step and I started my life change during this month as well last year. So I know you will get rid of the weight as long as you just keep going and never give up. If you fall off the wagon just get right back up. You can do this! Sorry for the ramble. Just seeing your age and weight goal just brought back memories of when I first started.
