My real age is 8.5 years less than my calendar age !
I didn't expect that! :-)
So, Madhu, that is done! Thank you!
I'm a bit late, still, 10 changes after joining SP?
1.Water, drinking more of it. Around 8, a little more, at times a little less.
2. Learned self control! Ate less fried items. This last month no samosas bhajiyas nothing. Except for a pappad or two with rice, nothing. Ha! Now I think of it, I do feel proud of myself.
3. Moving more than I normally do. I should be more regular.
4. Weights! SP introduced me to weights. Thank you.
5. Mostly sleeping better.
6. Portion control. Though I'm not in complete control over that, I'm very conscious of what I eat, and how much.
That is it!
I want to be fit and healthy.
Be responsible for my own health as far as it is in my hands. History of both diabetes and cholesterol from my paternal side, high BP and asthma from my maternal side is a looming concern.
Completing two years with SP this June.
Has been a bumpy ride. Jumped in with gusto. Came mighty close to my goal weight. 2 more lbs, and I would have been home. Then I let life interfere. I know I should have been stronger for myself... less stupid. To cut it short, I ended up adding on to my start weight at sparks.
And to top it all, I felt guilty, at being so close to my goal weight, when many of my fellow sparkers were still struggling and trying so very hard..That was silly. I now know that they would have been happy for me. Just as I am happy for my friends, [and for complete strangers too, at that!] when they reach each milestone and finally their goal.
I feel so proud of, and happy for each and every one of them. I know how hard the journey is... what ever be the weight loss goal.
We are a great group, and I am proud to be part of this great and wonderful, caring Spark People family.
This second innings is not as easy as the first one.
Fighting and struggling back to a more committed journey.
Hanging on to the weight loss wagon with the encouragement from my friends here.
I want to get addicted to working out ! Be consistent in my efforts to be fit and healthy.
Win my battle against portion control.
Before sparks , I was just doing some yoga, and when in the mood..walks& exercises...
We have all heard of yo yo diets . Well, I was on a yo yo fitness routine!
This second time around, I want to build up my strength and stamina. Take slow but sure steps. Something I can build into a habit for life.
Sleep is still a problem area. Though I sometimes have 3 to 5 nights of 'good' nights sleep at a stretch. I am so thankful to SP for that. The articles and pointers have helped. I just hope that one day I will sleep like any normal person.
On the ''water'' front the intake has improved a lot. Though on some days it is still a struggle..then, I have to push myself..
When I eat away from the TV, I find myself reading while eating! That isn''t good either ! I know that.... but I find it very difficult to eat , staring into space. Perhaps I should stare into my plate. That must surely help! Portions!
HI, I''m from India. I''m a homemaker. Both our parents are no more. Now that I''m left with with so much time on my hands.... I''m learning to love myself and look after myself. Reviving my hobbies and finding new interests!
I am a happy, caring fun loving, positive person.
I love to read , listen to music, paint, embroider, crafts, cook. [I like to undertake cooking experiments.. lol ] Like to play shuttle badminton and cricket. Love to watch all sports and games.
My friends at spark are my lifeline to good health. Both in mind and body.
