Losing to have fun with my dog

My name is Nancy. I am in my mid-50's and have always had a problem with my weight. After many years of yo-yo dieting, I quit even trying to do any thing and have now gained weight beyond my wildest imagination. About 10 years ago, I started to run agility with my dog. I know that my weight has held us back from becoming the exceptional team that I know we could be. Now, I have another dog that I am starting and my weight keeps me from having the energy to really work with her. I am ...

I am tired of being the fatty in the group and realize that the extra weight is making me old before my time.

Hello,

I saw you on the dog agility team page and thought I would introduce myself, as there does not seem to be a whole lot of action there these days.

My name is Kris, my husband and I are very active in the dog agility world in New England. We currently have 3 dogs. Two black labs, Otto and Mulligan and a Golden Retriever pup, Striker. My husband does all the training and handling, but I am the support, usually found at the events scoring or otherwise volunteering around the ring. We primarily show USDAA but have ventured into AKC and done some CPE events.

Anyway, it is always nice to find people with similar hobbies and interests. I am seeking to change my world a little by establishing a healthier lifestyle both for myself and my family (both my husband and furry kids).

Your dogs are adorable! Good luck out there and I hope to hear about your adventures.

Kris

Caught your page via Dog Motivators --- LOVE your pups! i trained agility but never competed...for exactly the same reason...weight keeping me from getting my dogs to the potential they had! i'm not in any obedience competitions now, but a goal for me if the weight comes off is to rescue another shepherd and get back in the ring! Good Luck on your journey!

emoticon How are you doing? My dear friend has two Cardigans she runs in agility too. Adorable girls.

Keep pushing towards your goal and envision you and your young one at the start line ready to dominate the agility field!!
