2013 was the year of the Half! I am a half marathoner!!
2014... The question is, can I convince 11 other people to become Ragnarians with me?

I have been struggling with weight since I was a teenager, and will power is a big issue for me. when I turned 30 I want to embark on the next decade with a new body and healthy lifestyle. I have become obsessed with running, although it is still hard for me, I am determined for it to get easier and slowly it has.

Every year that I climb back up on the wagon I find it hard to even run a mile but after a few weeks I can run more than 2 miles, then 3 and 4 months later I am up to 4 and 5 miles... slow and steady! So here I am setting personal goals for myself and achieving them as I go.

I want to be athletic and say that I ran a half marathon.
I want to be confident and break through my weight plateau.
I want to bust through the wall of motivation to make working out and eating healthy a habit.

Joined SparkPeople in June, after hearing about it on the Jillian Michaels podcast. I was managed to lose 20 lbs in the first 2 months due to vigilance and dedication!! In August I let a bout of Plantar Facitis sideline me and I let all the weight come back on.

Got back into the ring (on the treadmill) ran Run to Home Base (5/22/11) An amazing event for the Mass General Home Base Program to help vets with PTSD and brain trauma. By July the wagon was dragging me kicking and screaming all the way to my original weight.

Again, back at it early on in the year (oh new years resolutions!) Ran Energize the earth (4/22/12) 5k (and it was a great PR). Dropped a bit of weight by May. And a nosedive by August.

Finally back in the game! March ran Ras na hEireann U.S.A. 5K (3/10/13). Then ran the 2nd Annual Energize the Earth (4/21/13) 5K and beat my previous PR! Now I have no excuses to be sidelined, I ran the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon in San Jose CA 10/6/13! (2:44:44)

I definitely want to take on more half marathons and maybe even a overnight relay race. What is a couple hundred miles between friends?

-Stay within my calorie range!!
- Run another HM in 2014
-Stretch my PF 10 min a day
-Be fit and athletic
-Lose 30 lbs and maintain loss
-Hit 160 fitness minutes per week.
-Fit into my skinny jeans (again)
- Break thru my last plateau of 175

My Program:
There is no substitute for calories in and calories out acompanied with exercise.

-Run at least 6 miles a week - done (again... ugh)
-Running 10 miles a week
-weight training 3x a week
- Do a couple sets of Burpies like a champ!

    Fun stuff!! Well you have a good plan and thats all you need. Im running a 5k next month, a 10k May and trying to find a race to run in july but im not having any Any who it sure is the year for the Half!! Im to excited Im registering tomorrow and I cant wait!

Im actually gonna start training for one this August. I plan on running in the Rock N Roll marothon/half in st. louis this october....Do you have any races coming up or planned for the summer?

    I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the holidays! I had a lot of fun over the holidays as well. I decided to just maintain over the holidays and now that they're over, I have jumped back into the weight loss thing. So far, I have had a lot of motivation and I've been doing pretty well. I'm just trying to keep that going for as long as I can. Best of luck to you as you get started up again. emoticon
