I joined SparkPeople about two years ago in a serious attempt to lose weight. I lost 30 pounds in about a year. Lately, I have just been enjoying the journey. Since I have joined Spark I have learned to like exercise and healthy eating. Exercise has become very important in my everyday life. This would never have happened if I had not joined SparkPeople. Even though I would still like to lose 10 to 20 more pounds , right now I am more focused on not gaining any weight during the fall through ...

My Goals:
My goal is to stay healthy and to continue losing weight.

My Program:
This summer I started taking exercise classes about three days a week. In addition, I walk as much as possible. Also, I work with free weights and do stretching exercises.

Personal Information:
I live in South Central Kentucky. (Central time Zone) I am a retired teacher. I have two grown children, and two grand daughters.

Other Information:
I like to travel, read, shop, work on my house, and exercise.
5% Fall Challenge commentment- track food, exercise at least 6 days a week. Put forth the effort and time that it will take to lose 5%.

Thank you for the beautiful orchid! Our Easter Dinner is here tomorrow and with this beautiful weather we will be able to eat and visit out in the yard! My favorite way since the family has gotten so big; the house seems so small. The yard is the only place we can all be together! Jelly Beans and Peeps remain unopened and safe. I'll open them just before everyone gets here; then hopefull they will go home with someone at the end of the day if there are any left. Do not doubt, if I don't give the away or throw them in the garbage right away. I'm vulnerable. I've proven that over and over. That doesn't mean I won't enjoy a few tomorrow; just means I have to eliminate the temptation to "polish them off". emoticon

Hi Annie, Thanks for the visit and taking the time to comment on my blogs. Recovering today from yet another family weekend. My MI family love coming down in April; when spring hasn't quite made it there yet. We had a great weekend but this whole month so far, with vacation and visits, has been much too focused on food and too little focus on activity. Daughter and Niece's families were great; but, my generation uses eating as a recreational activity and aren't physically able to do much else anymore. Too much sitting this weekend. But, I did get my hooping in! :) Looking forward to getting back into routine. Still have Easter weekend to navigate. Challenging month, thank goodness for gardening!! :)
