My first hike on a mountain. This was in the rain forest at Volcano Park. I had to get old before I started doing these kinds of things.

I joined SparkPeople about a year and a half age in a serious attempt to lose weight. I lost 30 pounds in about a year. I want to lose 20 more pounds, however I have hit a very long plateau. I am determined to keep trying to lose this last 20 pounds.

My Goals:
My goal is to stay healthy and to continue losing weight.
My Program:
I go to the gym at least three days a week. At the gym I do the ellipitical, the stair stepper and weight machines. I try to walk at least 24 miles a week. (I have a treadmil, walking tapes,l and I walk in the parks) In the summer I push mow my yard and work in my garden. Recently, I have added stretching exercises and free weights to my exercise program three days a week.
Personal Information:
I live in South Central Kentucky. (Central time Zone) I am a retired teacher. I have two grown children, and two grand daughters.
Other Information:
I like to travel, read, shop, work on my house, and exercise. 5% Winter Challenge commentment- track food, exercise 6 days a week. Put forth the effort and time that it will take to lose 5%.
