Now 55 and feel I need to make the effort to keep fit and healthy lbs have just crept on over the last few years and I need to stop the rot Reached goal weight October 2010 and have maintained for 2 years. However 10lbs have crept back on so now to call a halt and get back on track.
Winter 5% challenge;
Aim to do 30 mins + exercise every day to run 4 miles once a week and walk at least a mile in my lunch break when I am at work. I am not tracking my food but watch what I eat and need to go for portion control and not use food as a reward . I am also aiming to drink 6+ glasses of water a day.
My name is Anne I live in Chelmsford in Essex, England. I am 55 years old and am married with two grown up children, one granddaughter and two kittens. I work full time as a palliative care nurse/lecturer in a hospice.
I read lots, at present mostly crime and thrillers. Enjoy my home and garden. Learning to enjoy exercise I run a little, do exercise DVD's and a little hula hooping .
Oh yes. There are parkruns in Colchester on a Saturday morning at 9am. Pity I don't run. :-) I've passed the website info on to my daughter though, in case there is one near her. I've dropped a hint re the Colchester Half Marathon, but it is on the 16th, so too short notice for her, I expect. She has signed up for the Great North Run as her next HM. :-) This time she'll be raising money for charity.
A friend - name of Anne as it happens - who lived in Newcastle died of bowel cancer and the Bobby Moore Fund supported her and her partner through her last months of life. Bry thought it would be a good charity to support in memory of her.
Thanks for checking on me Anne! I haven't been acing my winter here on many fronts...stuck in survival mode! The weather has been unusually cold and snowy. 13 degrees below zero on more than one day. My walking outings with Buddy have been sporadic...yesterday actually warmed up near 50F and we walked 3 miles, but today was around 22 and windy, so our long walk became a 20 minute hustle. Add this to challenges of dealing with work & my beloved but very stubborn father and my self care has plummeted with the expected results. So it's back to square one I go. I do log in here every day, but I don't see the share your spin thing. Have a great week! Renee
The Ace is still there... Guess we'll have to post our spins manually if we want to share them on the feed. I am such a creature of habit... I don't care for change much once I get used to doing something a certain way. LOL
Have a great weekend Anne! Thanks for being a great Spark Friend!
