My name is Anna, I'm 28 years old and I'm an teacher trainer working in Korea for the past 4 years. The past 3 years haven't been easy, dealing with assault trauma, depression, severe anemia, etc. Happily, I'm doing much better now, and even found a wonderful new friend who has become my boyfriend! Unfortunately, I've managed to fain 24 kilos in the past 3 years... Not good! Time to change some things!

Ever since coming to Korea back in 2009, I've noticed my declining fitness level and increasing bad eating habits. Mostly due to culinary culture shock (well, I love Korean food, but it's not easy to cook for a single person!) as well as very busy socializing schedule due to my beautiful paycheck... And soon enough, I had gained about 25 pounds!! There were a myriad of other, more personal, reasons for this weight gain, but nevertheless, as of March 2010 I've taken the bull back by the horns and started re-designing my lifestyle.

Luckily throughout university and afterwards, I've had plenty of fitness and nutrition and supplement experience, both first-hand and from many professionals (close friends of mine and my own doctors), so I had a good starting position. I knew that calorie tracking was my weakest point, so I signed up for Spark People and it's been ever so helpful :)

My fitness program is constantly changing as I'm trying to match a balanced diet (harder than you think if you don't want to spend a small fortune in this country) with a proper exercise plan. But as always, lifting weights and focused bouts of cardio are my preferred method.

Since March 5th 2010, I've lost 5.2 kilograms or 11.5 pounds. So after 7 weeks, that's an average of 1.6 pounds - not too shabby! Of course, I still have PLENTY more to sweat off, but at least it's a start.

I'm hoping that by joining SP I can meet many other fellow fitness enthusiasts, whether or not they are currently in the process of losing weight, to help motivate me on this long journey!

My goal weight is 65 kg or 143lbs - and I hope to reach it by my birthday on October 25th! There not too much time left, so I better get going with that working out business already. Please do stop by and leave a comment! :)
