Roux en Y Bariatic Surgery Success

Update September 2014
My gastric bypass surgery has been an absolute success! On my birthday on September 16, 2013, I tipped the scales at over 300 lbs. As of my birthday on September 16, 2014, I weighed 176 pounds and have 30 left to lose. I have developed a true love for excercise and developing healthy habits for the best body I can possibly have, and I truly know deep in my heart and soul, that nothing will stop me. I will most likely be at my goal weight by my one year anniversary ...

I've been using Spark since 2006. I finally decided that after many failed attempts to lose on my own that it is time to get help. My primary issue is getting past long-lasting plateaus. My objective is to lose the weight and keep it off forever. My tool of choice - Roux en Y Gastric Bypass. Surgery was on January 31, 2014.

I'm using Spark to track food and fitness, blog about my journey, and get and give support to other Spark users. I know I will succeed!

Hey, you're welcome. I agree that you probably were just being resistant to the idea of the bike. You are right in that if you need to do this in light of your other problems, that's the way to go. Actually, I had to go to the bike because my foot doctor told me I had to quit walking about 2 months ago because of ulcers on my foot. In the past two months I've ridden over 730 miles on the bike. I can really work up a sweat on some days, so I know it's better than sitting around. I actually went out and bought my own bike as we don't have any health facitilities where I live. Good luck with the bike. I hope it works for you.

Hiya Anilew! Welcome to Redheads Unite! Looks like your weight loss goals are very similar to mine. Congrats on joining a gym. I am into my 5th week and I am LOVING it. I met with a personal trainer one time and he set me up with a 6-8 weight program. Then we'll change it up. I can't afford to pay for a trainer to meet with me all the time - so this plan works just fine.
Looking forward to chatting with you in the Redheads forum.
BE the change,
Diz
