New Year....New Start

As I reflect on the past year, I've made great strides but I've still got a long way to go towards healthy.

I'm a 26 yr old, college student with a chronic disease. Unfortunately my health problems effect my ability to eat and digest most foods, and effects my ability to do activities. Before I got sick I weighed in at 224 (heaviest), I tried everything even the extreme to no avail. Since getting sick I now weigh between 135-140 (on average). Before joining SPARKS my philosophy ...

Before I got sick I weighed in at 224 (heaviest), I tried everything even the extreme to no avail. Since getting sick I now weigh between 135-140 (on average). Before joining SPARKS my philosophy was "just eat whatever you can when you can" and "just move when your able". That method was not working for me or my health. Since joining SPARKS I have learned how to better fuel my body and have been able to find workouts that work for me. I have never felt so close to "normal" in my life. LOVE YOU SPARKS!

My Goals:
Drink more water.

Be healthy!

Make healthier food choices.

Figure out and eat the right amount of calories for me.

*January Goals:*

-Over 1500 Fitness Minutes

-Strength Train 3 days a week.

-Eat correct amount of calories 7 days in a row.

-Drink 11-12 8oz glasses of water a day (keep increasing 1-2 glasses a day until stop feeling the effects of dehydration)

-Get on my WII 200 minutes this month.

My Program:
*Wii Fit/Wii Sports
*Dancing around to my ipod (the more you look like an idiot the more calories you burn is my philosophy)
*Swimming
*Tae Bo
*Zumba
*Hiking
*Weights
*Balance Ball
*Anything I can do physically at the moment

Personal Information:
I live in one of the most active places I've ever been to. It seems like EVERYBODY and their mothers walk or bike EVERYWHERE. I want to be one of those people. I want routine.

Other Information:
Long Term Goals:
*Run/jog/walk a 5k
*Run/jog/walk a 10k (gotta run that 5k first!)
*Be able to last through an entire Hot Yoga session.
*Join a kickboxing class (got to be healthy and in shape 1st!)

Hi!! I haven't visited sparks for months and I haven't made it up the "M" yet this summer. I've been doing a lot of rafting and just got back from "Rocking the Rivers". Now is the time to settle down and get ready for my bariatic surgery. My surgery date is Sept, 28th so I only have little over a month to get rid of my bad habits...oooppps. I would love to get together and meet but I'm not quite ready for the "M" yet but other walks I'm up for. Thanks for you note. emoticon
